SOUND OFF: Thoughts on This Mess ‘Our Freedom’ Has Created in The Middle East? #HeHateMe
How one YouTube quality video could ignite world war
This week it was confirmed what we already knew, EVERYONE hates America. Politicians would have you believe its our free way of life but in truth it probably has more to do with our capitalistic society and the sneaky ish we do in other nations that never gets reported.
For Muslims this week we were in the cross-hairs for a very distinct reason. It now has been confirmed that
Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, was the influential figure behind the anti-Islam film “Innocence of Muslims,” blamed for sparking riots and protests in the Middle East. The riots were highlighted by the extremist raid of the US Embassy in the Libyan city of Benghazi which claimed the life of 4 US employees including the US Ambassador. The death is being called by some an “assassination” as part of a terrorist attack disguised under the cover of protest as it took place too ironically on the anniversary of 9/1l.
And while anti-US sentiment is nothing new, the expression of free speech exercised by this 55-year-old Egypt-born Coptic Christian man has put our country and the politicians running to preside over it in an interesting spot. New reports have indicated that Nakoula is actually on probation after being convicted of financial crimes, also was twice sentenced to jail on drug charges in the late 1990s and as a result is actually in violation of the conditions of his probation which insist he not use “any online service at any location” without the prior approval of his probation officer.
These events have raised so many interesting political questions. Whose fault is it? Did his video overstep its boundaries? Do the Muslim people need to be more accepting of differences in opinion, culture and religion? Are we in for War? Has this video single handedly broken down all diplomatic equity we’ve had with common people in the middle east? What, if anything, should be done about Nakoula? SOUND OFF:
FILED IN Need to Know, News

I’m pretty sure it’s like you said Juan, “they” don’t hate us for our freedom” as we hear constantly. It may have more to do with the way we have been killing Arabs and Muslims for decades and continue today with our drone strikes and ridicules support for Israel. Does everyone realize that the American taxpayers fund more of the Israeli armed forces than the Israeli taxpayers? How many Arabs and Muslims have we killed since before the first Gulf War? Millions? I bet so. And it goes on and on and will continue until we stop voting for The War Parties. That’s both major parties and make no mistake about this current one has been brutal to the Middle Eastern countries in the name of “Democracy” (except for one of course).
Wait didn’t Obama win the Nobel Peace Prize though? Say it aint so.
Barack H. Obama “for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples”.
Have you seen anything like that? It’s been anything but that. Of course it was awarded in 2009 before he had really done anything, I think they may have jumped the gun just a bit.
Well 1 thing is for sure Ol George W.Bitch Jr sure loved him some Middle East/Arab nations and 1 family in particular….Google Bin Ladin/Bush family ties….I do have 2 agree with Jimmyt overall he hit on the head. We well you all not me will never stop being over there in the Middle East causing violence in the name is KKKapitalism not FREE-DUMB. AmeriKKKa should stop fronting just build the bases already. Call it Dick-Head Cheney Air Force Base.
I think that it’s whose ever in charge of the Al Queda’s fault, weren they the ones that attecked the Embassy? I think that the video did overstep some boudaries. Yes, the Muslim people do need to be more accepting of differences of opinion, culture, & religion, you’re never going to find someone that agrees with you on everything. I don’t know if we’re in for a war or not, it’s too early in the situation to tell yet. I don’t think that this video has single-handed broken down our diplomatic equity with Middle Eastern commoners, hopefully, it’ll take a lot more than one video to do that. I think that someone from the U.S. should try to peacefully resolve whatever differences Mr Nakaoula has with the U.S. first, if that fails, use “physical methods of persuasion”. PEACE!!!
At this point, it’s hard to say who is really behind this. It could be Iran, or Israel, or both.
.
For Israel, I’m sure these events will cause a quick changed in what has been a difficult relationship with the US for the last few weeks.
.
For Iran, it takes attention away from their nuke program and probably reduces the chances that the US will support an Israeli invasion.
.
But it’s probably internal politics in Egypt and other nations in the reasons. I haven’t been keeping up on their local politics to know wwhat their internal beefs are, but this could be those in or out of power trying to strengthen their own political positions.
As Being Muslim. I don’t think it is an issue of not being tolerant of others faith. But i think the people of the Muslim countries who are killing people need to grow up. I also think it has something to do with them not being able to relate. While we are killing Muslims all of the time most of these countries don’t have a free press. Meaning that what is published is only allowed to do so because the Government allowed it. So why would the U.S. be any different? So in their mind this was insult to injury. While most American see this as one man acting a fool. They see it as the whole of America killing and Mocking them.
I am not against the protest. But i am against the killings.
Our freedoms are granted to us by our government, despite being called God given. From the outside looking in, it could be seen as what an American says and does, is sanctioned by the goverment.
