Like Tebow: Presidential Hopeful Perry Jumps on Denver QB’s Nuts Bandwagon
Presidential Hopeful does his Mile High Salute. Too bad for him Tebow doesn’t play football in Iowa.
Its rare when we get to talk about two of our favorite topics, Politics and Sports so when Rick Perry threw us a softball in last night’s debate you already know we had to swing away. In a desperate search for votes the Rick Perry jumped on the now very crowded Tim Tebow bandwagon. (FRONT RUNNER!)
The Republican Texas Governor who in the past has shown an inability to articulate himself when questioned about his lack of oration prowess instead chose to deflect the querry in favor of detailing his Tebow bromance.
“There are a lot of folks that said Tim Tebow wasn’t going to be a very good NFL quarterback. There are a lot of people who stood up and said he doesn’t have the right throwing mechanisms, or he’s not playing the game right. And, uh, he won two national championships and that looked pretty good. We were the national champions in job creation back in Texas. So, but am I ready for the next level? Let me tell you, I hope I am the Tim Tebow of the Iowa caucuses.”
Now if we could only get him to throw in a reference about Jigga we might actually have to endorse him as our Republican candidate. (Stay tuned: For those Nation residents who have been around prior to the ’08 election know that our “committee” will endorse a candidate from each party.)
Look personally I think anyone would be a moron to intentionally vote for ANOTHER Texas govornor especially so close to the heels of the Bush debacle but to each his own. Rick Perry seems like a…nice man. I wish I could say….”he speaks so well” in the same vain many racist white folks elect to do so when confronted with an African American who wears a collard shirt but I can’t….cause he doesn’t. This crop of Republicans has proven just what we thought they’d be: unimpressive. Its too bad Rick Perry that Iowa doesn’t have a professional team and Tebow didn’t play for the Hawkeyes he might have really been on to something. Instead we’ll relegate this to the circular file marked: #FailedCampaignEnergyShot.

I was wondering how long it would take for there to be a Tebow post on HN……
Tebow is another example of how ridiculous and unimaginative the American Mass Media-Mind Control Factory-really is. They don’t even have to try hard. They just manufacture the next diversion and bombard us to the point where people just submit and start following/paying attention to THEIR topic of choice……DON’T GIVE IN, HN… RESIST THE TEMPTATION…..DON’T LOOK INTO THE LIGHT!!!LOL
I was looking for a photo of Rick Perry on one knee that would have just set the asthetic off right E.L. hahaha.
I do beleive Tebow is sincere with his faith but all these Media outlets posting what is called “Tebowing” is so wrong ….it’s called prayer and giving thanks or momment of silence to your own belief. As 4 Perry he is “Tebowing” that there is a White sheet sale b4 Christmas .
You’re right.
And with yesterday being ‘bill of rights’ day, it’s kind of sad that no one on the stage (or in the media) seem to care that the Slavery Act was passed by congress yesterday.
.
The President, who initially threatened to veto the bill based on its built-in destruction of American Liberty, changed his mind and came on board when the bill was modified to grant him even MORE power.
.
But who cares that our children have been put in chains; Britney Spears is getting married again, and Howard Stern is going to go on TV.
*reads up on what he missed. wonders where he’d be without Malcolm smacking him in the head with knowledge*
Thank you
And here comes Malcolm, bringing up real issues and shit…..jsut when I was thinking everything was right in the world. (Sarcasm)
Maybe I’m the moron but I’ve been looking for this thing all day and it wouldn’t suprise me if it were INTENTIONALLY hard to find but all I’m seeing is a bill that was introduced on 8/1 called the “Business Transparency on Trafficking and Slavery Act” which was originally introduced by Carolyn Maloney (D-NY 14th). I can’t find any votes on it. Please enlighten us Malcolm.
@ Juan… Sorry. I’ve nicknamed it the “Slavery Act” because I believe in calling things what they are.
.
The real title is the ‘Defense Authorization Act of 2012’
.
On the surface, it is the annual vote to continue funding for the Defense Department.
.
But buried deep inside the bill is the little gem that may well destroy America as we know it.
.
Ever since the war on terror began, there have been questions as to what power the President has to lock people up as terrorists.
.
We are all familiar with the story as it applied to President Bush. People arrested around the world dumped at Gitmo. Placed in a legal limbo where they are held beyond the law for unlimited times.
.
Until now, the legal grounds on which a President could do this were still fairly murky. There were a few supreme court decisions; but nothing that actually settled the question.
.
And most important… the rules (usually) applied to foreigners caught in the battle theater outside of this country; and only to non-citizens.
.
Within the defense authorization act, there are provisions that grant the President (not only THIS president, but every president from now on), power to arrest US Citizens on American soil, to hold them without charge under military detention; to hold them until the war on terror is over (which means forever).
.
So, if the president or his people determine that you are a ‘terrorist’ or a ‘terrorist supporter’ (like money going to terrorist front groups), they can drag you off the street, throw you in a dungeon, never to be heard of again.
.
You have the right to protest your detention… once per year you can go up in front of a military panel to explain why you’re not a terrorist; but that’s it.
.
It effectively renders the military independent of and superior to the civil authority (which are the exact words used in the declaration of independence against King George).
.
This law is an abortion. It is such a flagrant violation of the basic principles of this country that it effectively nullifies the constitution; and raises serious questions as to how long we as a republic can survive.
It’s not in Obeezee’s nature 2 be that evil and hold ppl hostage that are believed 2 be terrorists or support terrorists , now George W.Hitler Bitch on the other hand or hell any of the RepubliKKKlans would looove 2 have that power and would take advantage of the common citizens rights. Demon…crats are 2 scared 2 even try 2 make such a bold move, yet on the other hand RepubliKKKlans are more on the DickHEAD…tator tip.
Al Franken was one of the very few who voted against this act. Here are his reasons.
