SOUND OFF: Should Joe Paterno Be Held Responsible For Not Doing More?
While he reported the disgusting act was it his responsibility to protect those innocent children?
The writing is on the wall. The legendary Joe Paterno’s tenure as the coach of the Penn State football team will soon be over. Some are speculating within days or weeks, in the wake of a sexual abuse scandal that has implicated several very high profile university officials.
Paterno, is the all time winningest coach in college football history and has not only stood as an icon for college sports but has tens of millions of dollars and two national football championships for the university. But the alleged actions of his former assistant Jerry Sandusky will most definitely tarnish that legacy forever. It all hit the fan earlier this week when two top university officials, Gary Schultz, the senior vice president for finance and business, and Tim Curley, the athletic director were charged with perjury and failure to report a 2002 incident in which then graduate assistant then Mike McQuear witnessed Sandusky assault a 10 year old boy in the football building’s showers. Reports have been conflicting as to what exactly was reported and to whom as well as why McQuear didn’t stop the act.
Mr. Sandusky, a former defensive coordinator under Mr. Paterno, has been charged with sexually abusing eight boys across a 15-year period. After leaving the football program following the 1999 season, Mr. Sandusky worked with Second Mile, a foundation he established to help needy children.
Paterno has been criticized for failing to involve the police when he learned of the allegation of the assault of the young boy in 2002. It appears today that Paterno has or will step down and may face investigation by the state attorney general’s investigation into the sexual abuse allegations. While we don’t know the details should Joe Paterno, CLEARLY the authority at Penn State of the highest caliber (despite what the official hierarchy might dictate) be held responsible for not doing more, being more vocal and permanently putting a stop to Sandusky? SOUND OFF!

After reading the grand jury report, I think anyone within a mile of those showers should be thrown in jail.
Do you have a link?
Here’s the report:

I couldn’t agree with you more. How any one could witness such an act without having rushed in to save that child and pummel the perpetrator is so far beyond my rational mind. Any HUMAN being would have done not only MORE, but MUCH MUCH MORE!
The D.A. who chose not to prosecute, the cops, the administrators, the janitors who witnessed another incident, ANYONE who even suspected this should pay for the pain these kids had to deal with. MY GOD, where were the saviors?!
AmeriKKKa will just blame President Obama 4 this 1 , he is the 1 that actually was in the shower with those boys .
Hell yeah, he should have done more! First, confront Sandusky and have the graduate assistant waiting right outside the door when talking to him, so that when he denies it, the guy can come in and they can get it straight…after that, yeah, tell the AD and the President and let them know that if they don’t report it to the police within 3 days, he would…then, find out who the kid was and go to his house and talk to his parents about what happened…..I have a 10 year old son who is involved in sports, and I think I know his coaches. However, if any of them is a F*cking pedophile and so much as touches him, and then respected people like Paterno, a university AD and a VP knew about it and did nothing but ban him from campus (which in itself is admitting tha he was doing something wrong)…there would be hell to pay…I don’t think there is a jury that would convict me of murder for taking out that SOB…
Correction: they didn’t ban him from campus. They said he couldn’t bring boys from his “charity” on campus…he was free to sodomize them anywhere else!
What I find especially disturbing is that he seems to have had a free pass for all of this. A person afraid of getting caught doesn’t do these things in a lockerroom shower where they could get caught.
.
Mind you… I don’t find that as disturbing as the idea of a grown man raping a bunch of 3rd and 4th grade boys, but i guess that’s just me.
.
When I first read the charges, it took me a long time to get my brain around that. We’re talking 3rd and 4th grade kids.
.
If these charges are true, public execution is too good for him.
Hell yeah!!!!!!!, He and every piece of shit that knew about the abuse that was going on. How the fuck are you going to turn a blind eye to a piece of shit that was robbing young boys of their manhood, how the fuck are you going to allow this piece of shit to set up a “foundation” for kids, knowing of what he has done to these kids. Guess money and putting up a front is more important than a young child’s dignity. DEATH PENALTY TO THE PENN STATE ATHLETIC PROGRAM!. People still want to make up excuses for these pieces of shit, let that be your son, nephew, grandson and etc, see how you would react.
*HBN Fam, I’ll be on vacation, so, to my fellow Marines on here, Happy 236th Bday and to all vets, Happy Veterans Day and to all of you, Happy Thx Giving and god bless all of you and your fam’s.*
Yeah, everyone who knew but did nothing to confront the problem should be held accountable.
.
I think that in many cases where crimes are committed there is not enough done in the area of accountability. You can lock up all the drug dealers but if you let the problem of the drugs being imported fall to the wayside you are not really solving the problem. You can lock up everyone with a illegal firarm , but when these firearms are going unaccounted for by the gun manufactures, the problem will continue. It this case and in any arena dealing with children there should be hard written rules of engagement and punishment if/when crime are committed against them or if crimes are known and go unreported.
.
I have no smypathy,NONE!! 4 any1 who touches or molest kids , it’s hard enough 2 be a child in this world with all the shit they go through in a normal life much less a perv try’n 2 get his or her freak on. That head coach and all that were involved should serve no less than 15 or 20YRS. Yes years, not months or weeks, days, or hours, but YEARS . I prefer lethal injection but the “Just-Us” system does not care 4 the children in this case either, just so it goes away and these rich alums, admin, and athletic directors also want every1 2 4get and move on with their dumb ass football program. Let’s move on from this is the quote that is the norm. Let’s start the healing process….fuck that!!! Let’s inject some bleach in the penis hole!!!! I got a gallon of clorox who’s 1st?
