Freaknik 2.0 Coming to Miami Spring Break 2012
SOUND OFF: Do you think Miami can rekindle the flame and carry the torch for Atlanta?

#Freaknik
Maybe I’m dating myself to an extent but when I was coming up as a youngin, Freaknik, was the holy grail of wild urban slackness. But for me it was not to be. The x rated Spring Break party as banned by the city of Atlanta before I was of age to attend. But my loss is another mans gain. Freaknik is back and this time around coming to Miami Beach.

Slated for the weekend of March 10-11 2012, residents of Miami Dade reportedly are already hating, citing the pornographic reality show that invaded the streets of Atlanta for years responsible for violent crimes, looting and sexual misconduct.
But event organizers who are consciously using the iconic event’s name insist their event will bear no similarity to its namesake.
“No one that was actually on Freaknik Atlanta is associated with Freaknik Miami,” organizer Otis Bailey told NBC last week. “We just pretty much wanted to use the name because of the brand, it kind of excites people and gets people talking about it.”
Like I said, I never experienced Freaknik during its original incarnation but its urban legend proceeds it. Do you think Miami can rekindle the flame and carry the torch for Atlanta? SOUND OFF!

I am glad Freaknik is back and what wetter place 2 get it pop’n than Miami . Hell when KKKrackuz and KKKaspers invade these places 4 spring break they do just as much or more stupid shit. Girls Gone Wild need I say more . So wear some condoms, bring some loot, and learn something and be productive when u get back 2 campus.
I was in Miami for memorial day weekend this year if it’s anything like that u can count me out. Shoot outs in the middle of the street, over priced food, and all other kinds of ratchedness beyond belief. U gotta think u got like 5 different hoods meeting in one place. Opa-locka, lil Haiti, etc. Add alcohol n wanna be thugs with a point to prove and u have a perfect storm for disaster.
Yes, but what the point of using the name if the Miami event is going to be nothing like the original. I think that they should pick another name. PEACE!!!
I love the fact that Freaknik is coming to Miami, matter of fact, I’m going to make sure I’m down there when it jumps off. As far as this whole bad for the city thing…if you feel like the event is going to be bad…don’t come, stay at home that weekend(problem solved). This is going to generate alot of revenue for the city of Miami so it’s not really a bad thing, ijs.
