Eminem, Slaughterhouse Cypha Revives Hip Hop at BET Awards If Only for 16 Bars
It was like seeing that old girlfriend from junior high looking sexy as ever
By now yall are probably very used to my gripe sessions about Hip Hop and how she’s lost her way. How she’s been ravaged an pillaged by tight jeans around the knee fitting, Autotune singy-song rapping, Maybach renting, gaudy overpriced overblinged chain sporting metro-sexual thugs. So when you see something resembling that fine Hip Hop shorty we used to love I tend to get a little excited.
This week BET aired its annual Hip Hop Awards and while there was plenty of the aforementioned foolishness on display that night, somewhere along the line we got this brief glimpse of her, we saw Hip Hop.
Are those lyrics I hear? Were those two consecutive lines without repeating the same word as if rhymed like no one was going to notice? Was that just a man and his microphone, no frills. Did Eminem cause a seismic shift if the earth’s equilibrium? Absolutely. Did Royce Da 5’9″‘s “Hi Rihanna” digs have me cracking up? You bet! I suddenly realized I was somehow transported back to my youth and that’s a good thing.

I have not seen the Buffoonery Entertainment Television Hip Hop awards but I keep hearing there was some actual Hip hop with Em, Royce and Slaughter House.L.L.got an Award which I’m shocked they would give any1 b4 2000 an award(2000 is old school 2 most heads Lol). I used 2 well I still do love her but damn I am kind of salty on how she has turned out 2 be. She is suppose 2 be grown and sexxy now she is over 30 yrs old . I don’t mind her being Global becuz thats what we all wanted but now that KKKorpoRATS have taken her Hostage and turned her out she needs the likes of Em and a few others that care 2 rescue her “left 4 dead” looking ass.
Em, Slaughterhouse, and Yelawolf’s cypher was the best OVERALL. However the reigning individual champ of the night (out of ALL the cyphers) was Busta Rhymes (Em being a very close 2nd). You can’t tell me that nigga didn’t murder that sh**…
Aaww the good ol’ days of hip hop, when being an MC was actually worth its weight in rhymes and not how much designer shit u rock. I use to be a fan of Joe Budden, but after he ran mouth and talked shit bout my turf aka the BAY AREA, FUCK JOE BUDDEN!, and dude dont got the balls to come through the bay, him and a lot of other rappers dont realize how the true artists from the bay have influenced hip hop, mainly slang and etc. Please to all the younger dudes and females out there, stop supporting garbage ass shit from the skinny jean wearing, wack ass, wannabe singers, same goes for them older dudes and females, just ’cause you get airplay, doesnt mean their shit is good. On the attire, sup with some of these dudes wearing extra young tops?…….lol
Yeah Em, Slaughterhouse, & Yela had the best cypher for the night (as a group). They just did their lyrical assault and had me hype! Hands down the Shady 2.0 boys have the crown for best cypher in 2011, but Busta killed that shit. He held his own and went in raw! I loved every bar and he made me proud to be a fan of Hip Hop. As for everyone else INCLUDING LUDA, their shit was wack. I didn’t expect much from Luda because he’s more of a party song artist, but I know dude is capable of coming with the punchlines and he failed that night. PAUSE….shhh…shhh…shhh.. SHUT THE FUCK UP! LMAO!!!
