Mega Superstar Reggae Dancehall Artist Vybz Kartel Charged With Murder
The whole damn game pon trial
It was just a few months back that we all lamented the fact legendary Reggae artist, Buju Banton was smacked with 10 years in prison stemming from a Cocaine conviction. Now he’ll have on of his “bredren” soon joining him it looks like. After being arrested earlier this week for drug possession and questioned for murder, blazing hot artist, Vybz Kartel was officially charged with murder, conspiracy to murder and illegal possession of a firearm in Jamaica yesterday. According to reports police believe Kartel, who is a mega star and perhaps the hottest Reggae/ Dancehall artist doing it, may have murdered 27 year-old Barrington ‘Bossie’ Burton in July.
Another black eye for a music that has struggled in its own right to differentiate itself. I guess all the rude lyrics doesn’t make you any friends with the man. As much as Hip Hop has always fought the power I can’t remember it every being under seige the way Reggae music has been in recent years.
