SOUND OFF: Do You Think the USTA Unfairly Targets Serena Based on Her Color
Let the Racial Determination Committee convene
On Sunday, Highbrid Nation’s favorite Fat Back athlete, Serena Williams was bounced from the US Open in the Finals against Samantha Stosur of Australia. However it was a split second decision by the chair umpire, Eva Asderakia which might have thrown her off her game and cost her the match. While hitting what appeared to be a forehand winner, an excited Serena screamed with elation but apparently did so too soon causing Asderakia to award the point to Stosur claiming the noise was cheating and caused confusion. Naturally, Serena broke out in a diva tantrum and yesterday the USTA fined her $2 000 for the venom spitting. The fine was meesily peanuts compared to the $1.4 million check she took home from the event including $900,000 for reaching the final, plus a $500,000 bonus for finishing first in the standings of the US Open Series
Of course this isn’t the first time Serena’s been reprimanded by the USTA. In 2009, Williams’ berated a line judge in a profanity laced tirade leading to an immediate $10,000 fine from the U.S. Open and later a record $82,500 fine from the USTA. At the time, Grand Slam committee director Bill Babcock said that if Williams committed a “major offense” at a Grand Slam tournament in 2010 or 2011, her fine could be doubled and she would be barred from the following U.S. Open. Since this was considered a “minor” offense such action wasn’t taken.
But is Serena being treated unfairly? Is she too sassy for tennis? too….black? Men’s doubles player Mike Bryan was fined $10,000 for an “off court” incident after he and brother Bob Bryan lost in the first round but barely made headlines. Naturally he’s not the caliber of Serena but to not even make headlines? Lets go as far back as John McEnroe. He’s still heralded for his over the top displays of protest and defiance. Instead of a sign of disrespect its always been seen as “passion” for the game. I’m not sure if its a sexist thing or a racist thing but I thought I’d seek the help of the RDC for a final determination

Yes, I do think that in this particular situation, Serena was unfairly targeted because she is a black woman. The official probably wanted to say that she had the whole “angry black woman” thing going on, or that she was being a diva simply because she is a black female that has money. PEACE!!!

But all jokes aside, no matter how passionate she is about the sport she can’t be threatening folks, right or wrong about the play. LOL!!! The tennis courts isnt the streets of Compton and she is not John McEnroe, them white folks are not having that shit from her. She should play, wreck every female in the sport and walk of the court.
She didnt get booted from the match. She lost the point becuase she broke a rule. She lost the match because she played like shit. The Williams sisters time is comming to an end. Nobody can match what they have done.Nobody. Race is not an issue here. Haters because they have been on top so long? Maybe. In a few years they will be retired and gone.
NOBODY will ever match what they have done for the good of the entire sport. Are there any Americans playing at that level to cover down on their exit? No. We will all miss watching them play.
I “never ever ever” in Chris Tucker voice, watched tennis b4 well except with Arthur Ashe RIP but never watched tennis really b4 these 2 came on the scene and yes Serena’s time will cum 2 an end like any other great athelete but after them tennis will be hella boring .

C’mon people….y’all are reading WAY too much into this. It was not racial. Serena yelled at the chick as she was trying to return the ball. Sharapova (classic white girl) had the same thing happen to her. This situation was blownup becuase Serena got Niggish with the chair…AND this is not the first time she has acted a fool. She is currently on probation for threatening a line judge. It’s going to happen again, because like most elite athletes, when their skills begin to fade and the competition “catches up” they have a hard time accepting they are no longer the baddest on the block.
Y is innovative and cool 4 John McEnroach 2 act a fool but just bcuz Serena xxxpressed herself NWA style she gets fined and threats of being banned? U know u answer playboy stop wearing those “There is no racism shades”.
McEnroe/Conner having temper tantrums is why the rule was put in place. Serena was getting her ass handed to her. She doesn’t act like a fool when she is running through chicks like she used to. Is there racism in sports…no doubt. Has Serena/Venus/Blake etc… had to overcome “judgement calls” that Graf/Evrette/Sampras didn’t have to…no doubt. All I’m saying..in this case, Serena was throwing a tantrum and got called out. “Everything is racist” shades will blind you more the sun at high noon.

I don’t think everything is racist but alot of what we do in everyday life consists on some racial overtones. XXXample little lies r white 1′z, devil’s food cake is chocolate, angel food cake white , PURE as the driven snow. Don’t mix Color with White while doing laundry or sex I do both all the time myself Lol. U wear white 2 a wedding and black 2 a funeral aint that some shit? Y R the Great Sharks white?
