Groupon First To Offer Discount off Tuition of Accredited University
This collective buying discount thing is getting interesting
If you’re like me you’re cheap like to save money and that’s why the emergence of websites like Groupon and LivingSocial.com have made us all feel like we’re finally using social media for good. These socially powered collective buying sites allow subscribers to have the power of the deal. The more you participate, the greater the discounts.
But with more sites competing for business, its been hard to differentiate. Groupon, the leader in the space boasts over 35 million users but is losing market share by the day to competitors. So they’ve come up with a great idea. Groupon and National Louis University in Chicago are teaming up to offer discounted tuition of only $950. That’s almost a $1300 discount off their normal rate of $2,232 While the deal is only good for a graduate level teaching course this is a first for any accredited University.
Its kind of cool if you think about. Imagine in a few years when your kids are gearing up for college. Just as they’re making their decision, instead of scouring the internet for scholarships to offset the huge financial burden you could be looking for coupons. Unbeleivable.
The deal deal goes live and will tip once 15 people have signed up.
