Its no secret that I think this Reality “Star” craze is a joke.  TV has somehow managed to make celebrities out of Kim Kardashian, New York, and a slew of rich plastic-faced housewives.  Despite its wild popularity and apologetically high entertainment value, MTV’s Jersey Shore has to the greatest extent made somebody’s out of nobodys.  If there ever was a greater group of ordinary Joe’s turned stars its Snooki and the bunch.

Rightfully so they’ve managed to flip their extended 15 minutes of fame into endorsement deals from Ronnie’s legal steroids to Snooki’s self tanner and Jwoww’s “beauty” products.  Its a marketing frenzy.  But for Pauly D the show has meant a huge break.  Perhaps the only one with a true talent, the DJ from Rhode Island has booked worldwide nightclub gigs and is actually WORKING for his career.

Cashing in on his celebrity 50 Cent recently signed, got him down with his Unit.  The slicked back Guido is now working on his own projects with Hot Rod on Fif’s more white folk friendly, G-Note label.  However as he told Billboard on the red carpet of the VMAs, 50 may actually be making an appearance on his upcoming album.

“I’m focusing on music. That’s my my passion. I’m working with 50 Cent now. I’m gonna do an album with him. It’s going to be a little bit of everything. It’s almost like DJ Khaled and kind of David Guetta but my own DJ Pauly D style.”

In a world where people are getting lucking turning absolutely nothing into something its refreshing to see someone’s passions getting rewarded.  Pauly D’s a guy to root for.
