HIGHBRID NATION REMEMBERS: Bubba Smith aka ‘Hightower’
That was my dude from Police Academy
I would suspect a great portion of the Nation is too young to remember Most Former NFL defensive star Bubba Smith as a player. However, as an actor, most notably in the Police Academy franchise where he played Moses Hightower, he was somewhat of an 80′s icon. So the news of his death was met with great sadness. Smith was 66.
Los Angeles County coroner’s spokesman Ed Winter says Smith was found dead Wednesday at his Baldwin Hills home. Winter says he didn’t know the circumstances or cause of death.
As a player, Smith spent five seasons with the Baltimore Colts and two seasons each with Oakland and Houston.
