SOUND OFF: Shaq Retires. Is He the Best Big Man of the Hip Hop Era?

Posted by Juan

Is he the best in Highbrid Nation memory?

@Shaq #shaqretires
Its officially unofficial, Shaquille O’Neal‘s playing days are a wrap.  Wednesday the 39-year-old NBA baller announced he’s retiring via his retirement via new live streaming video tool, Tout. While injuries and age have slowed him down in recent years, Shaq retires as undoubtedly one of the top 5 best centers of all time.  In five years when he’s eligible for the Hall of Fame he’ll carry with him his 28,596 career points qualifying for 5th all-time.  He’s finishing 12th with 13,099 rebounds  and second only to Artis Gilmore among players with more than 2,000 baskets with a .582 field goal percentage.

“We did it. Nineteen years baby. I want to thank you very much, that’s why I’m telling you first, I’m about to retire. Love you, talk to you soon,” Shaq said.  “Once a businessman, always a businessman. I am the emperor of the social media network.”

You might doubt his claim but you can’t argue with the numbers.  Over the past few year’s Shaq has proven to be a very heavily influencing social media maven especially on Twitter where he’s garnered a robust 3.8 Million followers. And while we’ll never know if he’s the “emporor” of social media we can debate his body of work on the court.  SOUND OFF: Is Shaq the Best Big Man in Highbrid Nation memory?

    From the Hip Hop Generation Yes he is the Best Center from the past 20 yrs and top 5 of all timethere will never be another Shaq. No good centers anymore,sorry China not Yao Ming but Shaq is still the best and I am not just saying that bcuz he won his 1st 3 rings on the west coast L.A. Lakers, yes his free throws sucked but overall the dominance this man had over tha game.His prime was when he and Kobe “The Snitch” Bryant were 2gether it was hella cool seeing them 1 2 combo on other teams.I remember Daryl Dawkins smashing backboards well I saw fottage of it. Shaq brought the whole goal down im talking the whole shit goal, backboard etc. I have yet 2 c something so amazing in B.Ball . I also liked Shaq’s personality with the media he is one of the best when it comes 2 the media .I hate Kobe interviews he is 2 dry same with Derrick Rose . Jordan,Rodman,Barkley, O’Neal and Phil Jackson are some of my favs.I was kind of hoping Shaq would be back in L.A. 4 1 more run at it but I guess he was beginning 2 be the Bret Farve of the N.B.A but the guy has 4 rings,almost 29,000 points unstoppable in the middle. I remember the Hack-A-Shaq.He is an instant Hall of Famer and he will be missed. So hats off 2 the Big Retiree congrats Shaq….Can U Dig It???!!!
