Actor, Clifton Powell wants to Beat Spike Lee’s ‘Punk Ass’ Up for Tyler Perry
“Spike is the worst and he needs to go sit his punk a** down!”

I was there a few years ago when this whole East Coast/ West Coast….I mean…. Spike Lee/ Tyler Perry beef got popping. Spike had a few choice words for Perry during an interview at the Black Enterprise Entrepreneurs Conference in Detroit. Since then the two have traded shots with Spike playing the role of Manny Pacquiao throwing most of the shots and Perry playing Floyd Mayweather in drag bobbing and weaving…hmmmm. Pause?
But now it would appear oft used Tyler Perry actor, Clifton Powell has been hired jumped in the mix, spewing venom at the NY Knicks greatest fan on the “Russ Parr Morning Show” going as far as to say he would beat Spike’s ass.
“He has never hired me, I don’t really care, because I would never want to work with him. Tyler [Perry] has found his genre. The problem with being African American in film as a producer, you have to be so worried about stepping on toes. We have just a few outlets in terms of the dimensions we are as a people. We zero in because there are not enough dimensions of what we do.”
“To be honest, I don’t like Spike Lee. Spike is worse than any one of the mans [sp]. Because back in the day…and I hope Spike is listening cause I’ll beat your punk a**. I don’t like Spike. I have never said it publicly out, but Spike is a hater…I shouldn’t have said it like this, but I’m going to tell you the truth. I’m from the streets and you got to take care of your people .. .Spike needs to go sit his punk a** down and stop talking about Tyler Perry. Tyler Perry was homeless about 10, 12 years ago and Spike wasn’t writing him no checks. I don’t like Spike Lee because I don’t like his politics as it pertains to how he deals with African-Americans. I auditioned for Spike several times, he kept all of us waiting for hours. It was insulting, he made people fly across country, pay for themselves and come to auditions. Spike is the worst and he needs to go sit his punk a** down!”
You already know I gotta roll with Spike just because he’s home team. I think its safe to say we won’t see Powell in “Inside Man 3.” Hate! Hate! Hate! I mean I can understand you not agreeing with the man’s beliefs or policies but to resort to violence? Its comical. Maybe this is just a publicity stunt but certainly provided for good entertainment on an otherwise ordinary Thursday.

actually im a NYer born and bred but i gotta say spike is a asshole,i was a extra in “he got game” and the scene where little jesus (10 year old) was playing ball his ball handle was a little off and spike stopped the scene came over and barked on him so hard if his father was there he’d have to beat spike’s ass, denzel saw and came over and schooled the kid the right way, also my sister worked and had friends in tv and they say spike’s real arrogant, plus you gotta love bossman cutty
I never understood this shit,y is it that African Americans have 2 beef with 1 another if it aint the movie biz, it’s the music biz R.I.P 2PAC and Biggie , Lil Kim Nikki Minaj,Suge and every1 .It’s stupid ass hell.U will never see Steven Speilberg or however u spell his last name, and George Lucas beefing.He has Star Wars dude has E.T. u won’t see 1 against the other ever….u know y, bcuz there is enough room 4 every1 2 shine as a matter of fact hell we need more African American stories told . I remember that time period from 90-95 there was alot of African American stories told on screen. House Party,New Jack City, Boyz N The Hood, Menace, Juice, Malcolm X,Panthers etc. There were a lot of African American directors all were trying 2 get there shine on and their story told. Now u mean 2 tell me since we only have 2 that r really well Spike aint doing shit really. Step ur movie game up Mr.Lee, u mean 2 tell me since we only got 2 left they have 2 throw jabs at 1 another…really? I love Spike Lee his stuff is political and Malcolm X is my fav of all times.There is also room 4 TP movies as well he has a core audience.I actually like a few of his flicks as well. So peep game from KKKrackuz their beef is with us not with 1 another when it comes 2 money making matters and remember like the commmercial says “U can learn alot from a dummy”.

Spike comes across like a hater, he isn’t winning, he isn’t the top Black producer and director, so he feels he has to throw salt on TP’s shit… He is all about self, i remember when he tried to sue Spike Tv because he thought they was bitting off his name, he acts like he came up with the word..oh yeah fail of course he didn’t WIN… I’m just saying everybody has their own lane, spike needs to stay in his, let TP, John SIngleton, Hype Williams… anybody who wants to direct/produce and rep black folk and be positive out here is ok in my book….
