SOUND OFF: Does Snoop Dogg’s Colt 45 ‘Blast’ Dangerously Target Kids?
Critics say Snoop was the final straw for a berry flavored, bright colored malt beverage

@SnoopDogg @blastbycolt
When I first saw these Colt 45 ads a few week back over at some of the far cooler swag dipped Hip Hop blogs I’ll admit I was confused. Is this an energy drink? Soda? A little research reveals that the malt-liquor brand’s new drink called “Blast” actually contains twice as much alcohol as the original and is blended with fruit flavors like Pomegranate-Blueberry and Raspberry-Watermelon.
So when Snoop Dogg signed on to promote the product which is slated to hit stores next month it raised concerns the product was targeting underage drinkers. These blended malt beverages have become all the rage lately as brands like Four Loko, Joose and Tilt have hit the market but as West Indians will note such beverages like Shandy have been around for years.
Colt 45 recently came to Snoop’s defense, claiming his involvement is not an endorsement, but rather “part of his lifestyle.”
“That’s just him being a true partner and saying I’m not just an endorser,” Daren Metropoulos, owner of parent company Pabst Brewing Company, told the New York Times. “Whether he’s putting it in his songs or having his posse drinking it, it’s part of his lifestyle.”
So he just thought the drink was so cool, so good he just appeared in the ads for free?! Yeah, ok! Despite the ill advised statement what do you think? Sound Off: Do you think Colt 45′s new Blast and its use of Snoop Dogg in its Marketing is designed to attract underage consumers?

death in a can
But of course! They can afford to pay Snoop to hold the can for the camera. They know good and well that his “posse” will influence the culture to at least buy the drinks even if they don’t ultimately like it. If I want to drink malt liquor, why would I want pomegranate-blueberry mixed in with it? I’m just sayin’!
Seriously, folks in our country need to watch that flick……..”Idiocracy”! Its a comedy,but damn if our society isnt heading in that direction. They know what they’re doing,why and dont care of the consequences. Capitalism at its finest! And if we can kill a few in the process…….we’re geniuses!!
