[RANT]Why MUST 7 NYPD Officers Arrest A Black Man for Telling a Joke?

Posted by Juan

Pop Quiz Which Gang is Worse? Bloods, Crips or NYPD?

The New York Police department (NYPD) has a tough job policing the city much of which has nothing to do with the officers we see in the street but rather the Dialloculture and fear that its brass has put in their hearts.  Diallo and Sean Bell weren’t victims because officers hated these black men but because the were trained to fear them, trained to believe every black man is a potential threat.

Case in point.  The other day I wasn’t feeling well. It was late maybe around 12:30AM.  My stomach was doing flips and I decided to go to the bodega on the corner to get some seltzer to settle my stomach.  While walking down the block I noticed a group of gang members dressed in blue holding down the corner.  Only difference from the crips that were there the night before were these cats had shields.  Upon returning, ADMITTEDLY I tested a theory.  I cracked the seltzer and took a few sips from the paper bag.  These dudes were on me like I brandished a gun.  I get it. This is Bed-Stuy, a far cry from Beverly Hills but does that mean I can’t sip a seltzer from a paper bag? Jeeze.

Apparently joking in the presense of police is a crime in NYC also.  CHeck this new WorldStarHipHop.com video showing a young black man on the street running his mouth, joking around with a bike rider being “questioned” by officers.  Seems the joke required Identification because he got carded for telling it and the rest is history.

I get it! As in my situation, black folks can be more discrete but why do we have to.  White folks don’t walk in fear in their neighborhoods not only of the bloods and crips but cops as well.  They all carry guns, hold down the corners, terrorize the hood and act like they run shit.  No difference.

I’M NOT EVEN GONNA GET INTO THE EAST COAST BLOODS N CRIPS, SINCE THE GANG LIFESTYLE THAT WAS CREATED ON MY PART OF THE COUNTRY WAS DISSED HARD FOR HELLA YEARS BY THE EAST, ANYWAYS, THIS AINT BRAND NEW, COPS FEAR MINORITIES PERIOD, MY BOY GOT HEMMED UP, CAUSE HE WAS SIPPING ON HIS ICE TEA THAT WAS COVERED BY A BAGGIE, POLICE DEPARTMENTS NEED STREET SMART COPS, NOT THESE PARANOID WAITING FOR A LAWSUIT TO HAPPEN PUNKS.

    • Juan says:

The problem is we have KIDS patroling the street that have very little experience and a few credit hours of college under their belt. Their told go home to your families at all cost which means its better to protect (myself) and serve (haymakers)

      • CHAMP415 says:

U DO WHAT U HAVE TO 2 PROTECT URSELF HERMANO, HIRE STREET SMART COPS OVR COLLEGE CRED PUSSY PUNK RACIST COPS, IT AINT JUST A BLACK THING, ITS A MINORITY THING, WE LATINOS GET WHUPPED ON N DISCRIMINATED AGAINST BY THE 50′S ALSO, PPL JUST DONT HEAR ABOUT IT AS MUCH

  2. 2NA$$TEE says:

Do u notice when KKKops r caught 4 their mis handling of minorities, they get 2 weeks paid vacation, a parade and a statue in their honor …what does that tell u when Mike Vick goes 2 jail 4 dog fighting but KKKops get 2 weeks paid vacation 4 killing a blackman? Now on some real talk.If u notice since the begining of this brutality of Blackmen 4 the most part,it’s justified what KKKops do 2 blacks. It’s going 2 be more now since President Obeezy is in the Heezzy .U never hear of a KKKracka get’n shot 50 times or a plunger shoved up their ass.Even on that show KKKops the white boy is talking mad shit and trying 2 fight the PIG while in handcuff, cussing, biting, kicking the car window etc.I feel Blacks KKKops should go in white hoods and just start shooting 4 no reason at KKKrackaz ,then u would get some convo about police brutality. There would be town hall meeting, fed laws would be passed etc. I have learned this about AmeriKKKa if it don’t effect them on a regular then it’s not an issue.Look at all the bills passed recently concerning crime . Amber Alert , Pauly Klass bill, Brady bill back when Ronald Reagan was shot. Make my day Law. All these laws and bills r 2 cater 2 and 4 KKKrackaz. Now the Crips and Bloods 2 me could be a positive but they r so scared of KKKops but will kill themselves, innocent kids , and lower the value of land they claim that they don’t own.KKKops will continue 2 beatdown and KKKill African Americans at an alarming rate until we r extinct or some1 has some balls 2 address this head on,un4tunately they r going 2 have to be white 4 it 2 bcum an issue.

OK, I guess this is the point where I need to stand up for the cops. Not always a pleasant duty; but once again, I think it’s the right thing to do.
    .
First, I’ll restate the basic truth that I always restate in situations like this: The only thing standing between society and open war on the streets is that cops MUST ALWAYS WIN ANY STREET FIGHT THEY ARE IN.
    .
If a cop runs from a fight, if they lose a fight, or if they are afraid to walk the streets that they patrol, then society will break down and the gangs of roving hooligans will take over the world.
    .
Now here’s another unpopular opinion… the guy who got arrested was asking for it.
    .
There is a right time and a wrong time to argue with a cop. There is also a right way and a wrong way to do it. What started out as a smart-ass comment to the guy on the bike rapidly turned into a battle of manhood between the passer-by and the cop. It was a battle over who was going to be the king of the block, as both got themselves offended too quick, and both were unwilling to respect the other.
    .
Let’s recap the video: 0:18 – the guy getting the ticket is standing still and quiet as he waits to get his ticket. The guy walking by makes a smart ass comment to the perp (no problem there, it was done in a friendly way)
    .
0:34… the cop tells the passer by to mind his own business. 0:42 – the passer by starts yelling at cop #1, and cop #2 gets out of the car. Cop #2, now looking bad on the street (and on camera) has to assert his masculinity by reminding passer by (now perp 2) who is the cop.
    .
1:01… perp 2 attempts to walk away from the cop while he is being questioned. 1:04… cop ask for ID, and perp 2 wants to put up a stink about being hassled.
    .
1:10 – Perp 2 now gets aggressive with cop (don’t put your and in my face)
    .
1:24 – perp 2 starts to hand ID to cop, then pulls it back. 1:34 – starts to walk away from cop after being told he was being issued a ticket.
    .
1:43 – guy in red shirt tries to calm down situation and perp 2. Perp 2 hands license to cop. Cop decides that he’s been offended, and says (it’s too late, he’s coming with us)
    .
2:16 – guy in red shirt still tries to make the peace, Perp 2 is now in “why are you touching me” phase.
    .
3:44 – perp 2 decides to tussle, he doesn’t feel like being arrested. 3:55 – Perp 1, the guy on the bike, hasn’t moved an inch from the place he was told to wait when he was getting his original ticket. 4:05 – perp 2 stands up and screams to crowd as he’s being put in car.
    .
4:23 – guy in red shirt still trying to make the peace explaining that perp 2 was trying to crack a joke, but situation is too far gone to be resolved. 4:54—perp1 (on the bike), is still stationary, not moving until he’s told to by the cop who has forgotten that he was going to write him a ticket.
    .
Had perp2 originally said “I was cracking a joke at the dude on the bike” instead of yelling “What, I’m not talking to YOU”, the situation would not have happened.
    .
Had perp2 just handed his ID to the cop instead of trying to be a tough guy, the situation would not have happened.
    .
Had Perp2 played it cool, and just done what he was told like the guy on the bike, it would not have happened.
    .
Had Cop2 taken the time to listen to the guy in the red shirt, it could have been resolved, but both Perp2 and Cop2 were by this time playing it for the camera and the neighbors.
    .
And if it will make you feel better, here’s a video of a bunch of black cops beating up a white suspect.

    • E.L.Diaz says:

I actually agree with you on this case, and I thought that even before you broke it down, malcolm. That dude was asking for it with his attitude and mouth…..now the officer in that video, he should be charged just for being named Rapunzel! are you serious?! Ra-freaking-punzel?! a grown person??? That’s stoopid as hell!

    • Juan says:

Problem malcolm is you called him “Perp 2″ from the jump. He was a wiseass until about halfway through. See that’s how NYPD sees the community as potential perps and that’s the problem. Its not their fault though. Its the massive drug/ gang epidemic that’s created FEAR. They don’t want to get shot as much as then next dude but sometimes they gotta realize the frustration of the community and let some things slide. He wasn’t a threat. Let him live.

      • Malcolm says:

Ya, but I had the advantage of hindsight. I knew he was going to end up in cuffs after watching the vid the first time.

  4. Malcolm says:

And just to show you that the sale rules apply even in the rich white neighborhoods, here’s a true story for you (in my old neighborhood)…
    .
Shelby township Michigan. Rich white town.
    .
A bunch of white kinds are hanging out behind a strip mall, smoking cigarettes, and being kids.
    .
A cop comes along, and tells them to move on. The kids start to talk back, and one of them decides to push (or jump) the cop. Out comes the night stick, and the cop puts all of these rich white kids in the hospital with a few well placed hits from the night stick.
    .
The parents of these little hooligans decide to protest the ‘brutality’ outside the police station. Because, after all, their perfect little angels would never have talked back to the cop.
    .
In the end, the kids were charged, the cop got a raise.
    .
Moral of the story… there is a right time and a wrong time to argue with a cop.

    • 2NA$$TEE says:

Malcolm I am talking about over all KKKops have an issue even the House Nahkuz h8 black men.I am not saying we don’t need KKKops we do we need more if u ask me , but this total disrespect and str8 up murder has got 2 stop.U mean 2 tell me u don’t think there is a problem in this KKKunt…try when it comes 2 KKKops and Urban communities or where there is a large minority population. It’s not about class bcuz trailer trash whitemen still get respected more than say a blackman who happens to be a lawyer. It’s about race always has and always will be. Individual cases r not all race related or might even b justified but overall u and I both know what it is, hell even Stevie Wonder can c what’s up.

      • Malcolm says:

I think the real problem is that with the nature of police work these days, the cops spend 40 hours per week dealing with the worst problems of society.
        .
These days, the only time someone sees a cop is when there is a problem. The only time the cop sees the citizen is after the crime, or when dealing with perps.
        .
In the old days, when cops had to walk their beat, they got to know their neighborhood; both the good and the bad. They had decent relationships with the decent people; they kept an eye on the troublemakers, and the neighborhood was better off for it.

        • 2NA$$TEE says:

Will my Brother even back in the day KKKops were doing this type of activity. Brutality is a serious issue especially among the African American male in the KKKunt…try. It’s been going from my research earlier than the 60′s that’s 1 reason 4 the Black Panther Party came about, 50′s 40′ is like KKKops get a pass 2 beat our ass.U tell me when have u ever heard of a KKKracka get’n their ass kick not shot but just a ass kicking like African Americans get in recent memory since the Rodney King shit u tell 1 incident . I get ur point on how KKKops don’t get 2 walk the beat and get 2 know the neighbor hood, yes I understand that, but that does not justify KKKilling blacks at a alarming rate. Peep game playboy.

    • Juan says:

Agreed its not a black people thing its a poor people thing the problem is black people disproportionately live in the poor people hoods.

      • 2NA$$TEE says:

Juan trust me it’s a Black People thang. What white boy do u know of any incident or have u heard 1 of since the Rodney King shit….utation in 1991. Has there been a case of brutality involving the brutality/shooting of a KKKracka involving KKKops. Name me 1 just 1 . 4 every 1 u name I can name at least 7.

  5. CHAMP415 says:

ALL U DUDES PROVE VALID POINTS, WHEN YOU’RE AN AUTHORITY FIGURE, DUMB FUCKS ARE ALWAYS GOING 2 TRY 2 PUSH UR BUTTONS, C HOW FAR U GO, THERES GOOD N BAD IN EVERYTHING,PPL N ETC N COPS ALREADY HAVE A BAD REP WITH THE MINORITY COMMUNITIES, SO WHEN A COP GETS ALL FROGGY, OF COURSE, PPL R GOIN 2 THINK DISCRIMINATION N ETC, THATS JUST THE REALITY OF IT, ITS JUST THE BAD THAT HITS THE SPOTLIGHT, POOR PEOPLE DONT TRUST THE COPS N VICE VERSA, COPS CAN ONLY DO SO MUCH, IT STARTS WITH THE COMMUNITY FELLAS.

  6. 4pl says:

The root of the problem is that NYPD doesn’t understand or respect the neighborhoods they patrol. On a daily basis I’ve always been of the mindset that officers should be hired and patrol there own neighborhood, where they live there wives and kids live. The level of respect for the neighborhood would be raised

If you implemented this policy now you wouldn’t have no cops on the street cause all the cops in bed stuy live in Nassau or Suffolk counties, White Plains or some where “safe”. Those officers look at Bed-Stuy like a jungle and as you pointed out are told to come home by any means
