A couple of weeks ago we evaluated the big winners and losers from XXL’s 2010 class and in their April issue they feature the new class of newly anointed neophytes. Some names you know like Diggy Simmons, others you may come to know as the year progresses and invariable some we’ll never hear from again. Here they are in part 1 of the signature freestyle giving you a test of what to expect. Although Mac Miller, YG and Diggy are up first in the cipher, here’s the full list to chose from: Meek Mill, Big K.R.I.T., Cyhi da Prynce, Lil Twist, Yelawolf, Fred the Godson, Mac Miller, YG, Lil B, Kendrick Lamar and Diggy. Haven’t heard much of these rappers except for a select few. As for the freshest, I’m going with Yelawolf. Trunk Muzik was good in my book and now that he’s on Shady his career is only gonna get better. I ain’t feeling Lil Twist. I’m actually disappointed that he’s reppin my city. He’s just a kid and his voice is annoying. And I’m confused, is he 18 or 15? I could have sworn I saw a video of him & Wayne last year and they said he was 15. Then inside that same XXL issue they said he’s 18. WTF? Anyway he ain’t my style. He’s like a Bow Wow for the new generation. WACK. Ed Lover voice…C’Mon Son, C’Mon Son! As for everybody else….I’m gonna have to do some research and see what they’re about.

Cyhi stole the show on “so appalled” which featured kanye jigga n pusha T. That alone puts him on the issue. Then he killed it again on “take one for the team”.His mixtape with green lantern was pretty decent. dude got barz for days. Definitely my number 1 pick then big krit

Diggy sounds good; Yelawolf is a BEAST and Twist has potential (irritating voice and all) as long as he doesnt go “Wayne” on us. Still not a Wayne fan
