10 Year Old Puts Lil Wayne’s Irresonsiblity on Blast In Open Letter Music Video
Frustrated Voice of the Youth or Viral Messaging Stunt Constructed by Activist from Behind the Curtain?
@LilTuneChi
And here I was thinking that all the girls loved Lil Wayne. I’m still trying to get my brain around this new music video that surfaced of 10-year-old Nea and her two friend’s song, “A Letter to Lil Wayne” going at what they perceive is a poor example for young ladies. On one hand who could deny these very cute young ladies and their anti-chauvinistic message, rebuking the rapper’s use of the word “bitch.” and his lack of respect for black women.
But on the other hand it raises questions for me. Why Lil Wayne? Seems random to me. Don’t get me wrong, I commend these ladies for what their doing, or should I say support their efforts. However, I wonder whose behind them. Obviously a message like such is great but how much more powerful from the lips of a 10 year old then lets say their parents who may have coached them and devised this plan. The video and music is very well produced and is a far cry from the arts and craft projects of a five year old or book reports on Dr. King characteristic of a 10 year old. The rollcall of logos in the pre-roll intro has me concerned about whose really behind this.
I will almost guarantee this video goes uber-viral and is shown by politicians and activist as anti-misogynist rap music as it should. But with a cleaner video void of all the various company plugs at the beginning it’s have a greater shot of convincing me. But without knowing enough about the origin of the project, I’d rather reserve further accolades or judgment. As wrong as Lil Wayne or any artist might be for the examples they set for young black women and men, just as wrong for a parent to hide behind the vail of their children using them as a vehicle for their political or promotional messaging. Just my thought.
FILED IN Editorials, Need to Know

I hate my pc at work. I can’t ever see any damn videos! LOL. But from what I read on this post, I would assume the little girl’s mother put her up to this. Maybe the girl has talent and her mother knew the message would have a larger impact if it was coming from a 10 year old instead of an adult. I mean lets be real, how many adults have had opinions on explicit lyrics? Almost everyone. Now if a 10 yr old is saying the same thing then thats going to stand out far more than an adult. People are going to look at this and say “even our children know this is wrong”. Well maybe not word for word but somewhere along those lines lol….
My sentiments exactly. That’s not to say the message isn’t valid but when you hatch that message from a skeptical egg, the message then itself must be brought under scrutiny. Once again I have no reason to believe this is the case other than my own curiosity and cynicism.
Watoto is Swahili for “The Children”….. just dropping knowledge lol…also lets you know others are behind this…
You say this about any top ten ten RAPPER THOUGH.
Yeah exactly so why Weezy, Weez? It just seems to well orchestrated for me. Its like when they have the child fonts where the letter “K” is written backward. Its an adults perspective on how a kid should feel about the situation.
.
If you really want me to drop a gem on you…What does a 10 year old know about the word “Bitch” unless they’ve heard it in the household enough to know its wrong. I remember being called a Nigger by a white kid and knowing it was bad so I called him one right back not knowing the meaning. I was 11 for reference.
.
My point is that at some point these kids (even a 5 year old) was exposed to “bitch” and either repeated it and was told it was wrong or more like this was all orchestrated.
LMAO!!! Juan I can’t believe you called a white kid that! HAHA! That is too funny! I bet he looked at you crazy after that. Its true though, 2 days ago my 8 yr old daughter came to me and told me this girl in her class (3rd grade by the way) called my baby a bitch! My daughter was hurt emotionally because she knew it was bad but she didn’t know the meaning of the word. I had to explain that to her and why people use the word. She is too cute, she told me that God wouldn’t say that so little girls shouldn’t either
Thats my baby lol
That’s awesome! it’s amazing the beautiful things that come out of babies’ mouths! you know what, tho, that is how you are raising her. Whatever comes out of their mouths is what is in their environment…my two youngest ones are two and three and they put a big smile on my face every day….
On the subject, I think they are coming at Wayne because right now, he is number one. Go to the top, why not?
Juan you always bring up good points…it is funny tho that you called a white kid nigga after he called you one, hahaha. I haven’t been able to peep tha vid either but, it does seem like someone’s behind it. Although with some of the comments, it may just be that this little girl just recently found out what tha word meant and Wayne just happens to be her favorite artist and she expressed how hurt she was to a parent and the vid is tha result…
