SOUND OFF: Why Do You Think Michael Vick Canceled His Oprah Interview?
It doesn’t make much sense to me. What say you Nation?

@oprah #michaelvick
After this, her 25th season on television, Oprah Winfrey will be retiring from her daily talk show that brought her to promenance (and the top of the food chain.) In celebration she’s decided to go out with a huge bang. Her farewell tour has been a laundry list of who’s who in every aspect from pop culture to politics. So it came as no surprise that she would chose to interivew Michael Vick. After all he was the biggest story in sports over the last 12 months. What was surprising however was that Vick CANCELLED the interview scheduled to air next Thursday.
“After careful consideration, I will need to postpone the taping of the Oprah Winfrey interview,” Vick said in a statement. “I admire and respect Oprah and hope to be able to participate in an interview in the future.”
Since I heard the news I’ve probably put more time into why then I should admit because I just don’t understand. While Oprah has never been an easy interview for anyone, she’s more famous for making careers than killing them. I thought he had nothing to lose given he’s already gone to prison, been released, worked his way back into the NFL and flourised almost winning the leagues MVP award. All the information was out there so there was nowhere to go but up. Some might argue that since the Eagles will most likely place the Franchise tag on him, this interview might jeopardize the big payday that such a designation might carry but I’m not sure. SOUND OFF: Why do you think Michael Vick canceled his Oprah Interview?

I think the man is trying to move on with his life… a interview with op will bring some negative attention to his past mistakes… we all know Op digs and digs and ask some real personal questions…. He is doing well without her interview…. just got the franchise tag by the eagles and people are starting to look at him as Vick the football player again and not Vick the dog killer

i think that with her profound love for animals particularly dogs that goig on her show would count as a possible risk. You know she is going to ask about it and he cant justify what he did…especially to her. I see what you mean about going no where but up BUT if she corners him with a question that doesn’t have an answer to her liking she will drill. She has her career and this interview COULD very well rock his. So I wouldn’t do it right now either. He’s STILL in some ways proving himself again and a step like Oprah considering her interviewing history could jeopardize that. I’m NOT NOT NOT a fan of Oprah cause I feel she approaches some her interviews in a biased fashion, and she points fingers without full understanding of a situation! Not only that but she has never really been very supportive of black rappers and athletes…comedians and actors maybe but not the latter. Basically if I were him I wouldn’t do it either!!
I couldn’t you more about Oprah not being well prepared and never supporting hip hop.

JimmyT thank you for the link. I’ll post the content here:
Radio host Wayne Hunter, who tried unsuccessfully to question Vick regarding his former dogs during Super Bowl week in Dallas, told McCarthy that Hunter believes Vick bailed because he feared being confronted by one or more of the people who adopted his dogs.
“True to form, when Michael Vick feels the heat, he scrambles out of the pocket,” Hunter said.
That makes sense. I could see how having the dogs all scarred up could make him the deer in the headlights but could his being evasive of this interview not be damaging in and of itself.
It’s again sooooo damn amazing how ppl will go 2 any length 2 put the spot light on blacks when it comes 2 negative press. Oprah knows what she was going 2 do, it’s like when 2pac was set in Vegas. Oprah of course playing the Suge role. Y is it that a blackman served major time 4 harming dogs, when child molesters get less ,KKKops get off from Shooting blackmen who are unarmed. Every few months u hear about another KKKop shooting blackmen. What about hunters who hunt Deer, Moose , and turkey 4 sport? The rodeo where they put the rope around a calf and damn near snap it’s neck . Come on AmeriKKKa stop this Demon…cracy Hypocracy.
Cosign. Vick knew what was up. He ain’t dumb. F*ck harpo.
Besides the only reason she was doin the interview is dat she made a bet with another talk show host on who could interview vick first. She dont care about helpin vick she just wanted to win the bet
But we know Vick didn’t wanna go to a studio full of animal loving white people! LMAO!!!
Damn u have ball players who actually killed a human did less time then vick..stallworth I think just thirty days…so dogs have become a new minority group
No AmeriKKKa has put dogs higher than us on the “priority” food chain. Look how many times u hear of black men geting shot up or just shot by KKKops and serve no time hell Paris Hilton and Lindsay Cokehead served more time. KKKops get 3 month paid vacation 4 killing us , u kill a dog u get fed time . So what is wrong with this picture?
ture to form, people SOUND off !! im loving it like mickey dee’s in the piece!
Mike only needs to let his game do the talking for him. And 2Na$$tee is right, she only appeals to dog lovers that will feed a hungry dog before they feed a hungry human down on thier luck. Vick doesn’t need that bullshit period.
