Roc La Familia’s Tru Life Gets 10 Years

Posted by Juan

For real when are we going to stop this senseless kiling merry-go-round?

@THEREALTRULIFE
Yesterday at Manhattan Criminal Court it was judgment day for one of Jay-Z‘s more promissing protege’s, Tru Life. Born Roberto Guzman Rosado, Jr and his brother who were co-defendants avoided what could have been a life sentence by accepted a plea deal for the 2009 stabbing death of 20 year old Christopher Guerrero.  The stabbing was believed to be in retaliation for the shooting of a suspected drug dealer.  Both were originally charged with second-degree murder, gang assault and assault charges.  The career of yet another rising star derailed officially.

MESSAGE: This killing each other in retaliation is some bullshit for real yall.  We’ve already lost one…why compound it?  We’re all brothers in this world and the powers that be don’t care about us.  They’d have it just the same for us to continue this.  We went from one lost soul who took one for the team in the name of occupational hazard to another losing his life to now Tru Life and his brother now losing a collective 20 years of their own.  Hip Hop loses the potential music he could have made and oh by the way…the drugs aint going no where and have a casualty rate of their own.  SMH.

    This is more than a hip hop issue. This is an issue of a lack of true education. Education is not just in the schools, it starts at home. This eye for an eye type of living is jail mentality. This is why many US minorities don’t make much of themselves in this world because they are carrying around rules which only apply in jail. Also, for this man to have 10 years in life only shows that he is getting it how he lives. He wants to live that foolish lifestyle, now he will live in prison for 10 years.
    Unfortunately, this will NOT be a lesson to the younger people. This will only lead to more foolishness like T-Shirts which will read “Free Tru-life” and nonsense like that. He will gain some sort of pseudorespect from people who don’t even respect themselves.

    I don’t wish the worst or the best for this guy at all. I just say enjoy your 10 years away from everyone, dickhead. It takes a lot to kill an individual and to make a conscious thought to do this is more than a spontaneous act, it was premeditated. There is no action which comes from nothing. He didn’t just wake up one day and seek revenge. He already had it in his mind that he was going to kill someone and this foolish scenario gave him a reason to do so. He just didn’t weigh the option or should i say the consequences of his actions. In short, don’t drop the soap, nigga.

    I have never referred to myself as a gangsta or thug or even a wanna be hard nigga. I don’t see the point in it. And shooting or stabbing someone is really cowardly when you think about it. I’m not promoting beef but if you got issues with a person for whatever reason, and there is no chance in discussing it like adults then why must you go the extra mile to kill someone? Everyone is so damn scared to fight. If you get your ass kicked then so be it. Take it like a man, at least you get to live another day. But then again, niggas these days will eventually kill people if they got their ass kicked by someone. SMH. Its really a lose lose situation when it comes to these street niggas. They’ll give you every excuse to justify their actions. There are just some people you can’t educate and thats the sad part. Niggas want to be so hard and gangsta for their hood or homies that they’re willing to risk it all to get that “respect”. I’m sorry Tru Life but that ain’t hip hop. You made a decision (a very bad one at that) and now you gotta suffer the consequences. Hopefully you’ll mature while you’re in there and won’t make the same mistakes if & when you get out.

      Cosign. My best friend and I became friends after we got into a fight when we were 14… I was always the smallest kid in the group, so, growing up in NYC, I always had to fight. We fought and that was that. I would see the kid then next day at school or on the block and it was nothing…back then, kids got shot and stabbed, but that was gang-related crap. Kids who weren’t in gangs fought…we had boxing gloves too. We used to go at it that way all the time. Kids spend too much time playing video games and are scared to fight, like you said…

      I get what you’re saying about growing up in that type of community. And it is hard when thats all thats around you. Its 100% eye for an eye out in these streets. I’m proud of where I’m from and I’m not ashamed of it one bit. BUT I’m also proud that I didn’t let the street life take over me. Glad to hear your real boyz understood. As for the fake niggas, well never let a fake nigga get to you. In the end, you are the only one thats going to be taking care of your family, putting food on the table, and a roof over their heads…..well you and God lol.
