What the President MISSED in his State Of The Union Address
Did the President’s appeal to the Moderates and “Think Globally, Act Locally” remarks resonate with you?
@BarackObama #stateoftheunion
Last night the President delivered his “State of The Union” Address in the House of Representatives chamber on Capitol Hill. While this wasn’t President Obama‘s first such address, there were some very distinctive differences. The most obvious cosmetic differences were the fact that instead of that awkward division between the Democrats and Republicans, the party members sat together as a show of solidarity. If only for show, it did reduce the visually stupid “see-saw” affect characteristic of past addresses where members of one party usually stand and clap while the other sits in disgust in response to the issues. The other difference was the absence of Nancy Pelosi off the President’s left shoulder, replaced this go-around by the Republican Speaker of the House John Boehner.

Then there were the issues. The pundits will argue whether the speech was good, bad or boringly indifferent but at the end of the day its pretty difficult for even the obviously eloquent speaker to address ALL the issues important to everyone in this country within a 60 minute timespan. The President made a concerted effort to walk the tight rope which is considered “the middle.” Addressing issues that appeal to a more moderate lawmaker and constituent. While the economy and jobs, a noted absence in his last address, was a major focus, education and the need to compete on a global scale were very high on the priority list as well. The theme of “Think Globally, Act Locally” was apparent.”
However, I would like to point out that there really wasn’t a single mention of what the President and his administration plan to do with the growing lower class. This was the one single omission that personally observed and I think even CNN’s Roland Martin addressed it. While we can talk about jobs and reduction of government, spending, competition on a global scale the fact remains that people are struggling in this country and those once comfortably considered middle class are now rubbing pennies together in the lower rung. There are more people living below the poverty line than at any time since The Great Depression and yet the President failed to make mention of any policy he plans to address their needs or fix the problem. This might have been a tactical appeal to the Republican base which historically has attempted to address such concerns with the “Trickle Down Effect” made famous by President Regan. But in my opinion, we’re going to need a whole lot of trickle…perhaps maybe more like a sprinkle or better yet a downpour.
But what did you think? Did the President’s appeal to the Moderates and “Think Globally, Act Locally” remarks resonate with you?

He is one of them. A rich politician and could care less about the lower class. To me there is only one party.
And we were not invited.
We live in a Land of Pimps and Hoes GUESS WHICH 1 WE R , Politicians i.e. KKKongressman and women Sin…nators Demon….crats and RepubliKKKlans and yes even Pres.Obeezee is from the same category aka PIMP,like Jimmy T stated earlier. These ppl are very rich/wealthy. When have u ever known a rich person 2 give a damn about a broke ass person or their families or their vote . When it’s elction time they talk all that “Keith Sweat” beg’n bullshit then when they get in office they 4get about u till next election Just like a Pimp on checking his track. We as Americans aka HOEZ keep falling 4 the shit everytime.Politicians DO NOT care about low economy, no jobs, Soc Security,Health Care hell they are set 4 life . My advice 2 any1 is get n2 the political areana . I myself would never make it bcuz I would care 2 much 4 the have nots.
I always thought RepubliKKKlans and Demon….crats sat 2gether in a Presidential address ,that is so damn immature and we wonder Y AmeriKKKa is the way it is . I am going 2 sit next 2 a Demoncrat,I will sit next 2 a RepubliKKKlan how dumb duz that sound . What the fuck duz that show , that’s some grade school BS “ooooo they may have the cooties”!! And we pay their salaries.
John Boehner not Tom. As far as addressing the needs of the poor even though they wont admit it all these politicians still subscribe to Reganomics aka Trickle down economics. Deregulate give the rich and big business’s tax breaks and they’ll hire poor people and uplift the economy. Poor people know all to well that the trickle never reaches them.
The other thing that was amazing to me about the speech and the setting was that here we are a few weeks removed from an attack of another crazed gunman that took innocent lives and nearly killed a public servant. Everyone in the room is wearing ribbons as reminder we have a simulcast from Griffins room of her and her husband watching the speech, and not one mention of gun control laws. I was surprised by that.
Thanks for the correction. Wouldn’t be a post if there wasn’t one mistake. I think you’re very right about the gun control issue but I think that is an issue which is very divisive among Dems and GOP and that’s why he stayed clear of it right or wrong. I think Obama unfortunately has become a trying to be all things to everyone type of person and I’m not sure that’s going to work.
do yall see all those masonic hand signs in the front row?
Expound upon your statement. Freemasonry is an important topic in politics and I think its something we should address. Obviously you have an opinion and I’d like to hear yours if you feel so inclined.
theres not enuff room in this space juan to expound. but a little research on the new world order and free masonry will tell the bloggers almost everything but not everything. alot of people research the illuminati but its so much deeper than that. youtube or google CREDO MUTWA , DAVID ICKE, OPERATION PAPER CLIP, AND UNDERGROUND CITIES IN THE U.S.This is just for starters.
