Rihanna’s Smelling Herself: Copies the Beyonce Formula & Launches Her Perfume

New Year… same old ish. Gone are the days of every rapper or R&B singer trying to pump a clothing line. In 2011 its Liquor and headphones for the men (by the way 50 Launched a set of his own today…its madness) and perfume for the ladies. While Rihanna has been wildly successful endorsing products like her Totes Umbrellas at Macy’s she’s resorted to following in big sis Beyonce’s footsteps to launch a fragrance. Her new scent is called Reb’l Fleur.
“My grandmother in Barbados used to call me her Rebel Flower,” the singer tells People.com “Over the years, I layered many different scents to get something that was truly my own. But I wanted…something that said ‘Rihanna was here.’ Something delicious and special, a fragrance with subtle hints that linger and leave a sexy memory.”
I’m bored. Urban Pop culture is boring. Yesterday it was Headphones, today its smelly liquids. What makes you think we really want to buy your crap just because it worked for one of your contemporaries? If we would only be more strong willed and purchase products based on performance and utility rather than celebrity and marketing the world would be a better place…unfortunately I’d be out of a job. HA!

Agreed…SN: my cousin and my friend are together. And he got her some of that beyonce heat. She said she hates the smell. She said it smells like you’ve been sexing all day and only took that one shower that morning. I smelled it and its like a musty ass sex smell (NOT in a good way). At least the name “Heat” fits
Ain’t buying whatever she’s selling. I can’t take a minute of her voice before it sounds like nails on a chalkboard anyway.
