Keri Hilson Proclaims She’s Too Smart To Date Rappers
She’s not a bubblehead “I have a brain, I’m a little more than they bargained for.” So just who is capable of bargaining?

@CHELSEAHANDLER @CHELSEALATELY @misskeribaby
Fresh off her delightfully raunchy viral music video (as overwhelmingly decided by The Nation) Keri Hilson visited The Chelsea Lately show earlier this week in advance of her new album, No Boys Allowed. My girl Chelsea who resoundingly was awarded the Cougar “Smash” designation a few months back always comes through with the entertaining interviews.
When she asked the singer about a rumor that she wouldn’t date a rapper, Keri had this to say:
“When you mix a man who has popularity, who has money, who has bitches, that’s a scary thing for me. It doesn’t speak to my insecurities, it’s just not the type of man that I want and I think I’m not the type of girl they want. I have a brain, I’m a little more than they bargained for.”
Hmmm. Clearly she’s saying rappers pray on insecure, low self-esteem and yes dumb chicks but that’s nothing new, that’s the hood formula adapted. No need to wine and dine. For a dude with some bread and a little fame looking to play the field, keeping a few of those bubbleheads on the roster is low maintenance. They just feel honored to be a number in your phone book even if there’s no name attached. Unfortunate but true.
Back to Keri. She’s certainly opened the door to discover just what kind of guys she would date. Does she date guys at all? I’m imagine that given her response that threw out all R&B singers as well, athletes hell all entertainers period. So what about a mid-line entrepreneur like myself? Perhaps one of you out there in Highbrid Nation? I remember many years back there was a huge backlash in the industry because then popular, Queen Pen said she only dates regular dudes. Perhaps with the crumbling music industry, maybe Keri’s sentiment SHOULD be shared by more artists male and female. Get yourself a regular date with a steady job. Who knows when you might be out of your own.

Holla at me..Miss Keri..Im down, if you down..
She is prolly just like almost all those others famous women with money: they say they want a regular guy, but, for real, how many regular guys can provide her with the lifestyle she is used to? Financially, she is on a totally different level. Also, I, for one, don’t want paparazzi running around snapping pics, and people recording me with their cell phones, when I’m trying to have a nice romantic dinner with my date. Most “regular guys” prolly wouldn’t handle that well. I can’t spend a week in a $10G/day resort with her (not if I’m paying for it, LOL)…this is the life most artists are used to and she can say what she wants, but when it comes down to it, few are not willing to give it up.
Juan you gotta shot. I see her with a producer, a record company exec….someone who works in an office. Someone that runs a small or big business….a stable dude that isn’t living an entertainers life with an entertainers schedule.
I’mma young black business owner Keri get at me….
