SOUND OFF: Should Lebron Throw Powder Tonight?

Posted by Juan

One of the many subplots in Lebron’s return to Cleveland tonight

@KingJame @Cavs

So tonight’s the “Big” night if there ever can be one in the absolutely pointless NBA regular season.  Lebron James will return “his talents” to the Lake as he and his Miami Heat visit his former club, the Cleveland Caviliers.  I’m mildly interested and almost embarrassed to say I Tivo’d the game on TNT as I’m more interested in the crowd reaction than the actual game or final score.

Of the many subplots in tonight’s showdown include can the Cavs keep the momentum going following two games in a row with some floor cohesion, how vicious will the jilted crowd be on Lebron, Owner Dan Gilbert’s disdain for his former employee fueling his recent tampering inquiry and perhaps the silliest, will Lebron perform his pregame ritual of tossing rosin powder in the air, a tradition that was adored by Cavs fans and even featured in a King James Nike Ad.  Naturally I’m more interested in the later because in the grand scheme of things none of this really matters.  After all its hardly an original routine.  Lebron stole it from Kevin Garnett or was it Michael Jordan?

None the less it will be an interesting moment to watch so SOUND OFF: Should Lebron and will he Throw Powder Tonight?

    Of course he should throw the powder tonight. The crowd can boo him or whatever. It just doesn’t have to be the dramatic thing that it used to be when he was a Cavalier. He’s the visitor, how different is it with him throwing the powder at any other non-home court?!

    • Juan says:

      But does that become a distraction right as the game is about to start for the Heat?

      • skinnygirluver says:

        @Juan There is nothing you can do sans going into the crowd like Ron Artest to add to the distraction. It’s already as high as it can get on a distraction scale with him being there.

  2. R2D2 says:

    Let him throw powder. Thats what he does. Its part of his pre-game ritual… I just hope we (Cleveland) win this one or at minimum keep it competitive

  3. 4pl says:

    He stole it from KG but KG used to do it as a joke to get powder all over the announcers, Lebron made it into pre game theatrics

  4. haze says:

    what should i do? LOL throw the powder, why not they already hate him so whats the difference. i dont think they can hate him anymore than they do

  5. auchamp22 says:

  6. skinnygirluver says:
