N.J. Pastor Claims Facebook Is The Devil, Caused Him To have a Threesome
SOUND OFF: Is the social network the “portal to infidelity” that Rev. Miller claims it is? Could it be a threat to the institution of marriage?

#marriage #facebook
Since we’re on the topic of responsibility for ones actions I figured it appropriated to discuss the case of Rev. Cederic Miller. Last week the 48-year-old pastor of Living Word Christian Fellowship Church in Neptune Township, NJ confessed to his congregation that he, his wife and a male church assistant all had a threesome. It appears the orgy took place after Miller discovered his wife having an affair with the unnamed assistant. Instead of taking recourse, the pastor instead decided to join in.
After an legal investigation first uncovered such details, Miller chose to come clean to his congregation. But guess who he’s blaming for his indescretions? FACEBOOK claiming it is the devil and that it is a “portal to infidelity.” In the same sermon, Rev.Miller, pleaded with married church leaders to delete their accounts claiming Facebook ignites old passions.
“My life as a minister, husband, father and friend has led me to the conviction that I must do all that I can to help as many people strengthen, preserve and repair the often times fragile cords of marriage,” Miller wrote.
Additionally he issued an altimatum to 50 married church officials to delete their accounts with the social networking site or resign from their leadership positions. Initially he simply told his married congregants to share their login info with their spouses, but after further thought suggested the elimination of such temptations all together was best.
I can’t lie. He’s right. Facebook is a portal for reconnecting with old friends both romantic and platonic. For those in committed relationships that can pose possible unnecessary obstacles. While I can’t say that Mark Zuckerberg and his website are directly responsible for his threesome, I can agree that it might have cultivated and environment that could eventually lead to such issues. Last week we had a great discussion on marriage and the ability to stand the test of time, maybe Rev. Miller is on to something here.
SOUND OFF: Do you believe that for the good of your Marriage, couples should delete their social networking tools to eliminate potential temptations?

i partially agree, i mean Facebook can easily get you into some serious trouble and it does create some bait for the cheating fish. but this could easily happen with or without facebook, and essentially it shows you what sort of character you are. I don’t really use facebook that much as i find people try and use it too much as a tool to say “i’m so special” (yeah, special needs) [but anyways] or as a weapon by threatening to delete/block people as a friend. but what i’m trying to get too without too much of a tangent is that Facebook has it’s uses and it has it’s temptations, and should be used with sense, the social network is a powerful force, that can cause people to do some dumb shit
I closed my FB account almost 2 yrs ago.
*steps up on little soapbox*
Not because “Its the Devil, or a portal to infidelity”, but because it was a horrendous time waster for me. Its all in how you use it. Email can help you connect with old friends, so can Google or anyother search engine for that matter.
People, TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR CHOICES AND ACTIONS!!!! That will fix any issues you might have w/ any site. Before you type that name or “friend” someone, think about the potential impact.
*Steps of little soapbox*
You gotta use that Soapbox from time to time.
Yeah I think that’s the key point. Just like guns don’t kill people, people kill people. Facebook didn’t make him have wild sex with two people, He did.
Wow! this guy is a piece of work! and he still thinks he has the moral authority to tell people what to do! …
FB has helped me reconnect with people that I haven’t been in touch with since high school (a long time ago, lol)….I don’t need it for dating and anyone who blames FB for acting out on their desires is a hypocrite! …
On the subject of threesomes, I’m all for it, with one of my wife’s fine FEMALE friends joining in….dude is GAY!
agree fully!
That is just ludacris! This is merely a typical ‘smoke & mirrors’ trick that brothers use to DEFLECT the attention from what he did (i.e. dodge his responsiblity). Unfortunately, he received some traction…
This guy is a jackass. Blame yourself, I don’t have a facebook account because I find it boring, but for a pastor to blame a website, thats weak. Be a man and say that you wanted to try something new. You were horny and the opportunity was there. I preferably would have had another WOMAN. Having another man seems GAY. Ain’t no other man getting it in with my wife but me! lol
The fact that a pastor has a facebook page is questionable enough as it is. What is he sending his friends “pokes”?
This guy has the audacity to say delete your facebook or step down!!! What I don’t get is that fact that this threesome involved a church assistant who they saw face to face on a regular basis. Facebook had little to do with it…some people never cease to amaze me!!!
I know Eddie Long is somewhere slapping his forehead, thinking: “Damn, I wish I had used that excuse but I am not a perfect man.”
Great question. I believe that Facebook is a great time waster which can help you find REAL people to waste your time with.
And married couples need to communicate…in person, so they won’t be tempted by somebody on the other side of a computer screen.
Good point. If I were married, I might have to shut mine down just to save myself from the headaches.
Did it fly over everyone’s heads that he said he had a 3some with his wife AND ANOTHER DUDE! “Pastor Miller… You Gay” (Riley Freeman voice). Why are there so many people of the cloth that are undercover Homosexuals?
I think it flew over everyone’s head that I said he found his wife CHEATING on him and instead of getting mad about it, joined in.
Lol! I guess we missed the point. Or maybe not.
In Antoine Dodson’s voice, YOU BETTER HIDE YOUR WIFE, HIDE YOUR HUSBAND AND CLOSE YOUR FACEBOOK ACOUNT BECAUSE THE DEVIL IS BUSY!!!!
