We thought we had seen the best of Alvin Greene…or is it the worst?  Well Tuesday night the Democratic candidate for South Carolina’s U.S. Senate topped all performances.  As expected Alvin Greene, was defeated by a wide margin by his Republican challenger Jim DeMint, failing to pull of a second sneak attack, but it what Greene did in defeat that stole the election.

To refresh your memory, Alvin Greene was the unemployed discharged Army serviceman with no job, no financing, no platform, no signs,  no campaign manager…hell no campaign who cake walked somehow to a Democratic nomination for the Senate seat.  As a completely unknown, the press clamored to Greene to find out just who was this dark horse.   Much to DeMint’s delight what they found was a man that lacked the savvy to even carry on a civilized conversation, let alone a political conversation or political campaign of any stature.  Throughout his “campaign” Greene demonstrated peculiar behavior during interviews and has even been accused of being a sexual deviant.  But in the end it the inevitable came to pass and he lost as we suspected giving DeMint his easiest victory of his career.  But it was Greene’s concession rally that was perhaps the highlight of this entire ordeal.  A whopping 10 people most of whom were reporters showed up to support the defeated candidate who was more concerned with the food, some random comic book and running a no-victory lap.  Oh yeah and he forgot to deliver the customary concession speech and congratulations to his opponent but this was much better anyway.  Classic!

FOOD FOR THOUGHT:
Before you go dismissing the power of Alvin Greene consider this.  At last count he received had 358,069 votes . Sharron Angle the face of the Tea Party movement received only 320,996 also in defeat.  Perception is everything.  Keep that third Eye Open.
