[RANT] The NFL is Fucked Up For Making Randy Moss its Punching Bag
SOUND OFF: Do You Beleive Randy Moss is Being Treated Unfairly? Clearly I do. So do his fantasy football owners.

@r81m #randymoss #nfl #brettfavre
So as the world turns it gets worse and worse for my Fantasy Football squad. Kenny Britt is out indefinitely, Percy Harvin sprained his ankle but most notably, my 1st round draft pick, which as Left-Eye so correctly indicated was a bad selection, is now unemployed, at least momentarily. In a moment of frustration, perhaps rage or better yet mental instability, Randy Moss indirectly went on a several minute rant following Sunday’s loss to his former team, The Patriots. In a moment that could only make fans cringe, the future hall-of-famer sealed his fate with the team after indirectly bashing the coach for failing to seek his council in devising a gameplan.
While no one will ever confuse Randy Moss for being a model citizen of the NFL I wonder if he, especially in this case is being treated unfairly. Lets not forget this whole incident was sparked because the league allegedly fined Moss 25 large for as he describes it, failing to talk to the media during the week. Now while we’ve yet to confirm this to be the case, that’s quite a hefty fine for blowing off a few reporters no? Hell that’s halfway to the fines dished out for players last week who were found guilty of delivering helmet-to-helmet hits. Is Moss’ infraction worthy of half the punishment of a player whose carelessness could potentially medically injure another?
While I’ll be one of the last ones to waive the racism flag in general it does make me question the disparities with which punishment is dished in the league. Is it me or does it seem that only African-American players ever do anyting wrong in the NFL? Here you have on the SAME TEAM a guy like Brett Favre whose apparently been sending pictures of his beef to NY Jets staffmembers who has seemingly slipped out the back door now with Randy on the front page headlines. Both are Hall-of-Famers no? But when thoughts of even BENCHING a VISIBLY INJURED and INEFFECTIVE Favre were mentioned it was blasphemy but Randy of similar talent just at another position gets released?! Somethings not right. I’m not saying racism but if it walks like a duck, a talks like a duck, its not a damn mongoose.
While we’ll all agree Randy handled it wrong you have to consider the source. He handles everything wrong. The dude showed up to the Heisman Trophy Ceremony with sunglasses on. And the media has been picking on Moss for going “half speed.” I’m sorry but Randy Moss’ half speed is better than 90% of the league’s full. Not to mention it is only because he’s garnered so much attention that Percy Harvin has been able to straight beast in the last 4 games with Moss. Lets not get that twisted. He is and always has been a factor whether he catches a pass or not. So perhaps he’s the scapegoat for the Vikings lackluster season and Favre ineffectiveness and injury. So what do you think? SOUND OFF: Do you believe Randy Moss is being treated unfairly?

Hell yes R.Moss is being treated unfairly , When their white KKKounterparts i.e. Big Ben and Brett “I can still play even tho I am in a body cast just let me keep my streak going”Farve, send pictures of his childhood and sexting a bunch of sideline tramps even tho he is married , it is not looked upon like if it were a black or even half black/asian golfer. It just seems KKKrackuz get a pass when they do major stupid shit.
Yet when it comes 2 African American sports figures i.e. Kobe, Moss, Woods, I could go on and on till the break of dawn but I won’t they get their “dummy moves” put on blast .I was watching BS….PN and when the Big Ben story broke BSPN did not even mention it well maybe a few seconds do u “remember the time” In Michael Jackson voice when Kobe got caught up, or most recently Tiger Woods cheating hell they had a “69″ (there was pun intended) part story every hour on the hour about Kobe and Tiger Woods. So it’s just like in everyday life, there will always be a Double standard 4 US vs Them , 2 quote RUN DMC “it’s like that and that’s the way it is” .Randy Moss is a great talent and 2 be fired 4 sum dumb shit like not talking 2 the media just proves my point.
“if it walks like a duck, a talks like a duck, its not a damn mongoose.” LMAO! that’s good, Juan….
Yes there is a different set of rules for White and Black players. Is that a surprise? In pro sports there is a bottom line that supercedes everything else: Production. If you are producing on the field of play and you are a major contributor to your team’s success, the powers that be will leave you alone; or, if you mess up bad enough, give you a little slap on the butt and call it a “team matter” that was handled internally. Now, whether we accept it or not, Randy’s best days are behind him. He could afford to be a diva while he dominated on the field. Now that he is not dominating, nobody wants to put up with his crap. It’s like when you first get with a girl and she is fine and you tear it up every night. A few years down the road, some pounds later, and now she is not looking as fine and not doing the things she used to do for you, you are not as apt to think her little spoiled temper tamtrums and her attitude are “cute”. Randy is that old nagging hag now, LOL!
Thank you, thank you. Bows. I love the analogy.
I don’t mind a chick get’n thick as she gets older . As 4 Moss not producing he still has better catches than most WR not even none of my beloved WR in Dallas can fuck with RM . Not yet anyway but Dez is a beast hope Randy finds a team that might make the playoffs.
Double Standard? Shit looks obvious! I’m not even a Randy Moss fan and that shit still looks foul. The funny thing about this one is like PMD said back in the day…” I Saw It Comin” after last week.
Then McNabb gets benched last 2 min cuz his cardio can’t handle a 2 min drill? Kiss my ass! Ya’ll(The NFL)full of shit for one reason or another..PERIOD
Yeah that McNabb deal was mega foul. He’s been the doormat for the NFL for far too long. He’s long overdue for standing up for himself.
The mans name is used for one hand catches… i remember being a little guy at football practice talking about imma MOSS you… all practice i tried to MOSS someone…. no no no no receiver in History of American football is better at the long ball… not Jerry, not lynn, not Hayes, NOBODY….
exactly and this is the level of respect they give him? SMH. If Paterno can stay and coach until Penn State can no longer recruit from PS 161 Middle School then let Randy Moss rant a little bit. Damn.
moss’d him LOL i remember those days
For the first time ever, I COMPLETELY disagree with you Juan. First lets get the race thing out of the way. Like you said, you’re the last one to play the race card… so don’t play it. When it comes down to it, if we wanna play the race card, we can and always will be able to. If you’re looking for something, you’re gonna find it.
Aside from that, I still dont think Moss is being treated unfairly in the slightest. Yes, the 25k fine was unnecessary and excessive. But he got released because of his blatant disrespect to his team AND the league. I, for one, never knew players were REQUIRED to talk to reporters after the game (which, dont get me wrong, I found kind of ridiculous), but then to be so disrespectful to the reporter as to conduct his own interview??? C’mon man! That’s a slap in the face. Just a bad attitude. No coach, no player, no owner wants to deal with that. And bear in mind that there have definitely been other instances where Moss has shown a bad attitude, on and off the field. This was simply the last straw. And a big one at that. They definitely had grounds to let him go. In fact, I think he deserved what he got.
Brett favre is known as a humble and respectable guy. That’s why it’s a different story. Doesn’t even compare.
And did you see Randy Moss give up on tha touchdown play??? Get the f- outta here man. He doesn’t deserve to wear that uniform.
Unfortunately, he’s too talented to stay a free agent. But he definitely got what he had comin
I welcome you to disagree with me. Makes for good debate. It sounds like you might be drinking the NFL/ ESPN Media Kool Aid. Brett Favre is “known” as a “humble and ie” guy? Says who? We only know that through the media’s eyes. The same eyes that have painted Randy Moss a bad guy and THAT is not fair.
.
Now I agree with you that he was insubordinate. New details about his “firing” have surfaced since I wrote the post and I’ll back off my comments a bit but I still think there are racial disparities that exist in sport. Racism…no disparities…yes.
.
Yes I saw that pass interference play and said live that he gave up. A lot of players do that however, they don’t get fired.
Ok I feel u.. Yes maybe the media may have “painted” Brett favre as a humble guy and Randy moss a bad guy, but that’s only using the ingredients that each player gives them. Having never actually met either one of them, all we have, all anyone has for that matter, is what we see. So yes maybe the media toys with this more than they probably should have the power to do, but either way, Brett favre doesn’t give the media any ammunition to do so. Randy moss gives more than enough.
.
I can get with the disparities argument. Cuz we can actually go with that for everything. Disparities based on height, weight, muscle, fat, etc etc.
.
Yeah a lot of players give up, definitely. But thats not WHY he got fired. That was simply consistent with his trend of bad attitude.
How do we not know that other players or even the Brett Farve media darling doesn’t have a bad attitude. Half of these white football players are doped up on pain killers, go home and beat their wives but the NFL still features them in their “NFL Cares” PSAs. I’m just saying be careful what you believe based on what you see.
I like tha clarity Juan. I agree 100% that there are racial disparities. You can’t tell me that Big Ben’s ordeal went down and ESPN didn’t so much as put a photo of tha chic up but, showed every blow of Vince Young’s fight…come’on man. Tha team has every right to waive Moss tho. I understand that ya just lost to your old team but, to bash ya new coach and praise everyone at ya old organization just is too far. I guess that grass isn’t greening in Minnesota, haha. And if tha thing wit him dissing tha mom-and-pop restaurant that catered their after practice meal is true then he definitely deserved it. Whole thing should have been handled a lot differently tho. Sit him a game for violating team rules or something. It’d be crazy if the Pats pick him back up off waivers tho, hahaha
GREAT point. That Vince Young fight was up on ESPN faster than a fart in the wind.
