Miami Police Use Jay-Z’s Likeness To Depict Gang Banger Imagery???
Racist or Cultural Profiling? Lets let the Racial Determination Committee convene.

Gang activity has long been a problem in South Florida. In recent years Miami, in particular has been the epicenter of gang activity and violence which has held many of the cities poorer communities hostage. In response, The Miami Police have launched many Anti-Gang campaigns. One such measure has raised concerns among the Hip Hop culture when stylized images from Jay-Z’s Blueprint press photo shoot were used in on their website.
As you see two of the images are used, it would seem, to depict the profile of the gangbangers they’re trying to identify. What gives?! Lets let the RDC (Racial Determination Committee convene on this one.) While this might not exactly be “RACIAL” profiling, is this cultural profiling?
SOUND OFF: Do you think the Miami Police should be held accountable for this seeming irresponsible use of Jay-Z’s image? What type of measures do you think Jigga and his camp should take in his defense?

If they were talking about billionaires they would have Warren Buffet or Bill Gates or that Mexican guy’s likeness up there. If they were talking of sexy FatBacks Bria Myles or Vickie 6 would be up there in a thong booty sitting upright. And if they were talking about Bad Mofos, my handsome visage would be grace billboards and posters for all to gaze upon. But they are talking about what “they” know to be “gang bangers”,aka rappers or for a deeper concern, urban minorites.

Jay-Z, no matter how many albums he sells, or millions he makes, or good he does, still talks as if he is fresh off the block, like he is a day of off parole. And that’s the light that those who don’t really know, see him in. And really there is probably nothing he can do to change that…

1st of all 2 have his likeness up as Gang Bang Imagery is really fucked up . Can’t he sue them or something ? That’s the Wonder of Whitey and the Magic of Media tho. They might want 2 put a few KKKops up along with Jigga’s pic as well as George W. Hitler Bush Bitch and his Gang Bang, money stealing, lying ass racist, up there as well. I would have to say da-nay no @ Mr. Bad-Guy. If people see you in the light you stand in, then they would see Jay-Z as one of the most business executives in the country. Look at his press coverage cover of Forbes w/Buffet. Brunch with the Mayor and Russian millionaire. Jay-Z does not paint this picture you speak of. And have you heard any of his latest music? cause he doesnt talk it either. The depictions you see are from a 2001. The Blueprint. This isn’t even a big deal, sounds like someone is reaching for something to talk about. This mural was probably taken from something else and just used as candy to entice people to look at it.
As I recall, during a recent interview, Angie Martinez, Angie Martinez asked Jay-Z something to the tune of (paraphrase), Does he go to the movies. He replied, No, Because people know where you are for several hours. Angie Martinez further asks, so are you paraniod? He replied, I used to sell drugs, of course I’m paranoid.

He didn’t say, I’m succesful business man, or I’m worth alot of money, I’m famous I cant go around like other do. He said that he used to sell drugs, and that’s why he’s paraniod.

With that line said. He still stands in the the light of a drug dealer, and those who know him as such will see him as such.

I think this just shows the divide between the police and African Americans. Jay-z has never fully been a ‘thug’ rapper and for him to be portrayed in this light is ignorant and that is how many will see it. they should not have based their view of an African American gang member on Jay-Z and probably would have been better not putting an African American in the image.
