SOUND OFF: How Hot Would a ‘Firm’ Reunion Be?

Foxy Brown: “Nas and Cormega Beef Still Stands in the Way”

MTV Shows

@Nas, @foxydondiva #thefirm
Throughout the course of hip hop history collaborations between established solo acts have been met with mixed reviews. Slaughterhouse (Joe Budden, Crooked I, Royce Da 5’9″ and Joell Ortiz) comes to mind.  Most recently we’ve seen Damien “Junior Gong” Marley and Nas collabo on a hip hop/ reggae album.  But it was the later who was perhaps part of one of the most promising and powerful Voltron-like supergroups in “The Firm.”

A few weeks back, the group’s femcee, Foxy Brown took the stage with fellow Firm mates, Mega and AZ during her show at New York City’s famous SOB.  Their presence once again raised questions about a possible Firm reunion.  But as she tells MTV its not her holding up the process.

“[Nas] and Cormega — everybody knows the legendary beef between them. So, [the challenge is] getting them in the same room together. Nas had a concert at Lincoln Center two Christmases ago. AZ wasn’t there, but me and Cormega came out. So they can get in the same room together. And they can kind of alleviate the bullshit and say, ‘Let’s get this money now.’

We’re older, let’s get this money. We started as babies. We were babies, like ’96, ’97, selling millions of records together. We have history together. I’m the one that’s close to each one of them. I’m the link that can bring each one of them together. So it’s Nas getting in the same room with Mega. And then we’re good. His personal feelings with Mega, they have to work that out. Once they do that … They have a history that AZ and I can’t relate to. There’s something they have to work out. I know I can get them together.”

So now the question becomes who really would be checking of a Firm reunion at this point.  Who knows if it would be one track, an album or an entire tour but could “The Firm” be a possible tonic to all that ails Hip Hop?  SOUND OFF: Would you be hyped about a “Firm” Reunion?

nas and az back together is all i need to cure my ails, i could care less if mega or foxx didnt show up!

  2. Left-eye says:

    Stay your tongue!
Cormega is lyrically better than Nas. I tire of this nonsense. I think Highbrid needs to put out the blogs and survey of the true lyricists. Mega has straight fiya! His beats are usually asscheeks but he is on point.

    Foxx has always been garbage.

I have no ill comments about AZ. I can listen to an AZ album without being disappointed. I can’t say the same about Nas. That Nas/Stephen Marley Album was the WORST! The absolute worst!
If I want to hear jabbering from wannabes, I’ll walk downtown manhattan and look for the black Israelites.

  3. Left-eye says:

Lame marley and the fake muslim…sickens me.

  4. Left-eye says:

    My bad…damien

  5. dewayne says:

    u must be 16

  6. Jaypream says:

When the most relevant MC of the group is irrelevant, how can anyone look forward to that album?

  7. dewayne says:

all of u can say what u want about nas all i know is you cant name 3 rappers who have been better! he is a rappers rapper, like he said name a rapper he aint influenced. i remeber cats was sayin nas is the best and didnt really know who the cat was, it was just out there like that. lyricly untouched only a few come close black thought, pun, az, but not many. if his beat selection was on point like a rick ross it wouldnt b a discussion

  8. Drew Dastardly says:

u must be from the bridge talkin that sh!t…the only Nas album I still listen to on the regular is Illmatic, the rest is asscheeks to me…

  9. dewayne says:

i bet you think guicci mane , and waka is hottest in the game rite now lol….. i can tell by your tone!

  10. Left-Eye says:

I can’t name 3 rappers better than Nas?
    BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Nas? Are we talking about the same Nas? From Illmatic to BS Nas? LOL

From stealing Cormega’s lyrics while he was in jail to dancing with puffy, Nas?

    I can’t name 3 better than Nas?

    Really?
Do you think Nas could hold his own against the best? He was never better than Jay or Big…so I guess that’s 2 down already…and Pac is better. So that’s 3. Want more? Add Ras Kass, Cormega and Ghostface. Hmmm…Rakim, KRS…shall I continue? Redman…MF Doom…Mos Def…Big L, Pun, even (I don’t want to admit it) Weezy has more of a lyrical showing than Nas. Come on son. You’ve just started listening to music last year.

I know I know…my bad. I shouldn’t have done that to you. you thought I listened to the nonsense on the radio. Let me help you, son…here’s $10 dollars. go get me a turkey and cheese sandwich, lettuce, mayo on a hero. with a Juice. No drink…juice. you can keep the change. You’re on “Dun” status.

  11. Left-Eye says:

And here is something for you to grow on, son. Cormega

    “Who tale you tellin
    Are you frail or felon
Were you makin sales or watchin niggas sellin?
You exploit niggas lives in your rhymes and then avoid em
You never felt the moisture in the air from coke boiling
You never felt the razor scrapin your plate your hands achin
Yet you keep choppin cause there’s paper to make
You never felt the power of invincibility
Clutchin a gun like fuck it dun
    Its him or me
At your best you wasn’t hand to hand
    No more than 3 grams
What the fuck you know about a key man
    You never hustled
Lets get it right my nigga Wise woulda stuck you
Stop dry snitchin in your rhymes listen
What you tryin to do help the guys in blue
Indict duns so that could be another rhyme for you
You a parasite you never had a life
So you throw other niggas lives in your pad at night
Its clever when you write it
Spoken well for a dude who never been indicted
    You know the deal motherfucker
The real make the fake niggas kneel
And lose appetites when you taste nigga’s steel
My rhymes are what it take to get a deal
    That make it real
I’m like BIG you can’t replace the skill
I laced your I’ll like cocaine in scarface’s grill
Your motherfuckin flow is basic kneel
    Im Cor Mega raw forever
Yall niggas know my steez Im reppin for Queens
Your minor league I’m big time like Mark McGwire’s deed
    Your whole team is pussy
    When I squeeze vaginas bleed
    My lyrics they official
I bag up coke on dishes made of crystal
Your niggas they will miss you
My nickel plated pistol got 16 shots
You can take em with you
To the coffin or DAs office
Surgery nurses screamin we lost him
Life suddenly divorced and fuck it it cost him
You want beef say no more
Brace your delf nigga it’s on
    We spray 4 4 s bitch

Nas has never wrote anything so heartfelt and serious. Nas is bitchmade.
