Rush Limbaugh is back to his old tricks.  With a series of consecutive slow national news days late last week, the First Lady Michelle Obama‘s family vacation in Spain became headlines as it cost taxpayers an estimated $375,000 in large part due to the fleet of secret service officers she’s required to keep in tow. And despite the unnecessary attention, radically conservative talky, Rush Limbaugh thinks the media was too soft on the subject because of the country’s “slave past.”

In discussing what he preceived to be a lack of media outrage over her trip to Spain in a time of national economic peril Limbaugh said the oversight was rooted in race.

“As far as the media’s concerned, Mrs. Obama deserves this,” he said. “Look at the sordid past. Look at our slave past, look at the discriminatory past. It’s only fair that people of color get their taste of the wealth of America too.”

Limbaugh is clearly bored and questionably insane.  Not only did the press cover the issue probably more than it deserved but such practice is standard and so such a vacation despite who sits in the oval office.  With the issue of race… you can’t get any more ignorant.  In the most subtle way possible Limbaugh is trying to say the entire Obama presidency is an apology for the nation’s past.  I’m not sure the later is racist because the argument might in fact have some merit but to call the media slave apologist for not slamming the first lady’s vacay is base less.
