SOUND OFF: Is Lebron’s Akron Love Letter Constructive, Good Thing for the NBA?
Could Lebron’s new role as the villain actually elevate his game?
@
KingJames #Akron
Yesterday, LeBron James took out a full-page ad in the Akron Beacon thanking his hometown of Akron, Ohio for supporting him. However the letter raised some eyebrows in not-to-far-away Cleveland, for failing to acknowledge the city that spawned his immortal NBA career and nurtured him over the last 7 years.
“For all my life, I have lived in Akron – and for that, I am a truly lucky man,” read the letter published Tuesday in the Akron Beacon Journal.
“Akron is my home, and the central focus of my life,” James says. “It’s where I started, and it’s where I will always come back to.”
The ad which you can view here shows pictures of Lebron at annual charity “King for Kids Bikeathon” event which despite rumors to the contrary he will once again hold this year.
The love letter to Akron is sure to further insite a seathing Cav’s fan base that was energized by Jame’s acession following a long drought of mediocrity. They will get to voice their opionons Dec. 2 and March 29 when the Heat visit Cleveland. My guess is a majority of fans will be adorned in those cleaver shirts bearing the phrase “We are all Quitnesses” which are currently being sold in Cleveland.
SOUND OFF: Do you think Lebron should have published this love letter to Akron? Does he OWE any allegiance to Cleveland? Do you think Lebron’s new found role as the villain will further elevate his game and improve the parody and rivalries in the NBA?

Lebron doesn’t owe the people of Cleveland a thing, honestly they owe him lol… i mean seriously if the guy played basketball in any city or on any nba team he would be Lebron James, 6’8 240 pound leaping machine, any city would have embraced him and done the same thing for his career e… Giving love to Akron that is respectable his true home-town and i’m sure they will still be Lebron James fans, maybe even heat fans now… i’m ready for the first night of basketball, celtics vs heat.. should be good…
He doesn’t owe any city anything. He is working a job. He can choose to leave his employer for another employer once the contract is up.
Move on, Cleveland.
I agree, Lebron doesn’t owe Cleveland shit!!!
.
Especially since they shitted on him for making a conscience decision about HIS future.
.
He only played Ball for the city of Cleveland, Akron is Home. And you always gotta give your hometown love…
He owes Cleveland NOTHING! The NBA team located in Cleveland paid him for his services and he gave them their money worth apparently, because if he didn’t these same fans would not have been d*ck ridin him so hard. Now that he has choice to go elsewhere to further his career he is the bad guy? Please get the f*ch outta here, most of us would jump at the chance to improve our success. If he was at the end of his career or having a couple bad seasons, these same fans would demanding that he goes. City of Cleveland, unless he somehow took food out your mouth for leaving or he owed your something, sit down already!
