SOUND OFF: Thoughts On Wyclef Jean’s Impending Haitian Presidential Campaign?

Posted by Juan

Should a Nation with so many problems be run by a man with a handful of his own?

@WYCLEF
According to a report from the National Post and subsequent rumors New Jersey native Wyclef Jean is apparently poised to launch a presidential campaign in his homeland, Haiti.  However the news has apparently leaked before Jean was ready to release it.  Using the world’s most sophisticated PR Platform, Twitter, Clef did more to help legitimize the rumors than quell them with a very cryptic response.

WYCLEF: “Just to Clear up the rumors I have not announce (sic) to the Press that I’m Running for President of Haiti”

Wyclef has been very busy doing his best political impression since the earthquake launching an initiative to raise money for the relief efforts, organizing a celebrity benefit, ringing the opening Nasdaq bell and even getting himself mixed up in a whirlpool of scandal like only a politician could.  Accusations of an affair with one of his aides has lead to his wife to seek a divorce and the Smoking Gun has uncovered numerous instances of mismanagement and shady practices on the part of his Yele Haiti foundation

So while Wyclef might be the greatest ambassador and asset Haiti has it might not make him the best Presidential candidate.  But if you listen to Wyclef apparently he’s got his mind made up already.

So what do you think?  SOUND OFF: Would Wyclef make a good President to lead this Nation back or are his surfacing problems and inexperience too much for him to overcome?

    I wonder what the Haitian law is about dual citizenships running for presidency? also where does he live?… how can you run a country you don’t actually call home? crazy what fame can do… what is his party?.. but i also see the pros for the Haiti, i see how it will raise more awareness and more spotlight equals more money… i doubt they will let Wyclef truly run the country more less he will be a puppet, someone else pulling the strings…

    I don’t think I would vote for a guy who has a fish tank with a shark in it…in his car…
