SOUND OFF: Rick Ross’ ‘Teflon Don’ or Eminem’s “Recovery”?
Both are being regarded as “classics” While very different if you could only take on on a deserted island…

@rickyrozay @eminem
4PL has been raving about the not-so-new anymore Eminem album “Recovery” calling it nothing short of a classic. Being the anti Hip Hop hater that I’ve been in recent years my ears have become unaccustomed to music of the genre that they actually like. However, after a few times through the speakers during some downtime over the weekend I reluctantly had to concur. If the Source’s Mic Awards were still around with validity, I think there would be a strong argument it would be deserving of the coveted 5 Mics.
Eminem has always been a talented emcee his skin color always being irrelevant. I’ve felt from jump that he’s the Mary J. Blige of rap. He’s always infused intense emotion into the creation of his work. You’ll never accuse Em of taking it for granted or cruising. Yet even in his newest project he acknowledges and apologizes for his last album “Relapse” saying it wasn’t a great project. Not because he didn’t give it his all but because the drug habit he’s since kicked clouded his ability to create.
From the rusty factories of Detroit to palm trees of Miami brings us to Mr. Rick Ross. Ironically the debate is between these two quas-rivals by way of 50 Cent. While I’m more inclined to hate on his silly facial afro the truth is his beats absolutely will give you whiplash if you’re not careful. The word classic is being thrown around the Hip Hop circle in regard to his “Teflon Don” album which drops in stores today. (In stores being relative of course because when was the last time you bought any music in the store let alone legally. )
While I can’t yet vouch for the album not having listened to the entire project, I will say that the traffic report in New York City has been sponsored by “Big Meech, Larry Hoover” as its been responsible for a number of accidents on the B.Q.E. over the last few weeks. The track much to the dismay of the hater in me is tough! His last album which was severely underrated was a warm up for the Teflon Don which I will be sampling throughout the day today.
So SOUND OFF NATION is it Ricky Roset or Slim Shady? Whose album is hotter?

I haven’t heard all of Teflon Don so I can’t speak on it, but while Recovery is a very good album, it’s far from a classic.
I’ve been bumping recovery since it was released.. i got teflon don last night and its a banger as well… Ricky gets a lot of help on this album though so i would have to say hands down Em has the better album… but don’t sleep on Teflon Don, Ricky def bringing the beats, with a killer verse from Jay-z on the free mason track… Recovery gets 4 1/2 mics… Teflon Don- 3 1/2 mics.. Rick Ross deeper than rap is still his best project in my opinion…
RICK ROSS DA BOSS BY FAR!! TEFLON DON GOES HARD!!
Talk of expensive cars + Drug talk + jewerly brandishing + some video broads + the names of some well known felons + a popular alcoholic beverage = a Rick Ross album, simple and plain.
That’s Rap Math 101, now a days I need to hear some lyrical calculus, some vernacular trigonometry. No Dr. Suess Rap, or paint by the numbers Hip-Hop, or a Hip-Hop lifestyle lived vicarious through the real actions of some Drug Dealer/ Kingpin, or bullshit over headbanging beats.
With that said I’m riding with Em on this one.
How many albums is Officer Ricky gonna make before he stops dealing or dealing in or talking about dealing/ dealing in drugs?
At this stage in the game it sounds kinda fraudulent and unappealing…and Frankly, I’m not buying it.(Or downloading for that matter.)…
When the hell is Lupe coming out? That shit has been listed as “Coming Soon” for a year already…
i’ve been waiting on Lasers myself…
Lupe………………..yeah says here’s he’s in “pending” until he lowers his jeans 6″ to his knees, wears 20% more platinum an infuses more guns and drugs into his lyrics.
I haven’t heard Teflon Don but Ross’s ghost writers would have to be doing something pretty incredible to beat Em’s lyrical prowess on recovery.
Possibly…
Still feeling like eminem looks like a lesbian with the brown short hair.
EMINEM will always be better than officer ricky! Plus anytime you have to have a million & 1 guess features on your album….YOU SUCK!!! Unless its a compilation album!
Eminem’s Recovery HANDS DOWN!!!! Teflon Don is nowhere near a classic. It has a few good tracks and by that I mean like 5. I will admit that beat that samples MOBB DEEP’s “shook ones” is a banger but Em’s album is still better. I’m the type of guy that has to enjoy the beat to like a song but I love creativity with the wordplay as well and Rick Ross ain’t got shit on Eminem.
i dnt see why they are even being compared/ they are in their own lanes/ doing their own thangs/ many worried about word play and vernaculared slang/ hookin erbody playing hookey/ cracked cookie/ english teachin and speakin bookie/ doped and loaded ears for viens/ get off the “officer” train/ a job is a job/ who can YOU blame/ kimbo pad on the pad when he writes/ he back on his unmedicated grind aight/ 2 diff styles/ 2 diff trials/ 2 diff flows/ you perch on who you blow/ you hoes keep your mouth closed and youd know/
They have both been out too early for me to brand a classic. I’ve been listening to Recovery much longer then Teflon Don so I won’t even rate Teflon Don right now. Recovery has Classic written all over it, though.
i jam rick ross on payday. and em on monday after a long weekend…
