SOUND OFF: What Punishment Should Vince Young Receive?

Posted by Juan

Although not quite Roethlisberger’s situation, could the Commissioner be looking to send a message?

@vyoung518
Another day, another bonehead decision by an NFL Player.  While the Pittsburgh Steelers will be without their quarterback for at least the first few weeks of the season, the team’s week two opponent, The Tennessee Titans might be without theirs as well after video surfaced of quarterback, Vince Young brawling at a Dallas strip club called Club Onyx early on Sunday morning.  Because Young left before police arrived and were able to take a statement, he was charged misdemeanor assault and issued a Class C citation which carries a maximum penalty of a $500 fine.

As you’ll see on the tape, several people are talking in a small room with Vince when suddenly he wigs out and attacks someone across the room.  There’s no audio as its surveillance tape but according to eyewitnesses, Young became offended when someone dissed his alma mater, the University of Texas.

Although getting into any fight as NFL player is asking for trouble, there are some differences from lets say Ben Roethlisberger‘s case or Pacman Jones‘ strip joint fiasco.  No one was raped, no guns were fired and no one was seriously injured.   Keep in mind.  He wasn’t arrested, he was only issued a citation and was very apologetic and cooperated with investigators.

So next up, the man hearing more cases than Judge Hatchett, NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell.  Since, Young was only hit with a misdemenor and a citation, the case will be open and shut and the league will be able to quickly hand down punishment if any is deemed warranted.  So while we wait for Goodell’s wrath, lets play commissioner.  SOUND OFF:  What Punishment, if any, Should Vince receive.

Internet thugs make me sick…. They would never say stuff like that face to face…..

  6. E.L.Diaz says:

I don’t think anything should happen to him, as far as the commish disciplining him. I would hate for the owner of the company I work for to be all up my ass, fining me and telling me to take the next two weeks off from work, without pay, because I got into a fight. It’s none of his business where or why the fight took place, as long as I don’t have a job where I need a certain security clearance. He doesn’t. Pro athletes are just entertainers who use their athletic ability to perform

Goon put your face up to the screen and let me kick it… Juan give him the boot please, before i do…

I think this will be the easiest and quickest punishment decision Goodell has made, wasn’t major but still there has to be some consequences… 2 weeks max

  8. Jaxon says:

The only punishment he should get is the same punishment they would give anybody else for fighting.

I try not to censor comments on Highbrid Nation. That’s part of the freedoms we all enjoy. We usually even let spammers have their say. What do you all think?

I agree, but the reason i come to the Nation is because it isn’t like other sites, we do not have internet thugs, i know for sure if all these black folks was in one room he wouldn’t come in there dropping that WHITE POWER bs… He/she sounds ignorant and unintelligent…No matter what race he or she is.. its not what the nation is about…

  10. Bubba Mo says:

I come to this site to get relaxed, see some fat back and comment on a smash or pass. Not hear a racist rant by some ahole behind a keyboard…. This site is like the barber shop, you can come and chill and talk to your homies and have good conversation.

Vince needs to understand that if he is going to be an elite QB in the NFL, his standards will have to be higher than the rest of the team. While everyone else is at the strip club, he needs to be watching film and working on his desicion making. If he needs to unwind, build a room in his house with a pole and bring the ladies to him. That is what real playas do. He is not just anybody, and people will take shots at him all of the time. One game suspension.

  12. Left-eye says:

Honestly, this guy is a football player. Not deserving of anything other than the fine and then maybe a disciplinary NFL fine. That’s it. Who cares? Just go throw the ball and play sports, dummy.

please lord let me meet goon..
