Aubrey O’Day Puts The Skank on Pause To Respond To Slim Thug ‘ Sistas Aint Sh*t’ Rant
“I’d shudder to think that all men harbor the views championed by the Thug named Slim”

@aubreyoday @slimthugga @Vibemagazine
We already knew the ladies were going to have something to say to the misguided and at times completely incoherent rambling blog from Slim Thug earlier this week on Vibe.com . It didn’t take long before, of all people Aubrey O’Day chimed in.
While I no doubt have my own apprehensions about Ms. O’Day as a credible resource to advance this discussion I will instead focus on her comments which at least partly on topic.
“This paper-thin layer of unjustifiable ‘swagger’ and pseudo-confidence is simply masquerading the vulnerability and self-doubt of the modern day man. The subtext is clear… spineless men of all creeds are waving the proverbial white flag of defeat. Unable to cope with the demands of a new class of empowered, strong-willed and fiercely independent women, they’ve resorted to projecting their insecurities on those that, god forbid, expect them to live up to their potential.“
“Let’s be clear. This is not a race issue. It’s yet another twist on the age-old enigma that is gender relationships. Despite what you may have read, I’m a White girl that couldn’t cook to save her life, treats no man like a king and certainly doesn’t obey dictatorial male ego, even if it means my job… but I certainly can cater to deserving men who are secure enough to take on the challenge of a strong woman. We can be loud, opinionated, and rebellious, and we make no apologies for it. It’s not a Black thing, or a White thing. It’s a women thing, and trust me when I say that the sooner you men come to realize it, the better off you’ll be.”

Well Ok Ms. O’Day. She came out swinging for the fences as it was clear the blog touched a nerve. As a white woman I in fact find it honorable that she felt compelled to offer a rebuttal given the fact it really wasn’t her battle but took up arms for all woman. The primitive thinking with which Slim Thug embedded his argument exposed him for an all out assault from all women. As a man of limited intellect, its apparent his experiential education fell far short of appropriate expectation of a woman, black or other.
But back to O’Day. While I applaud her efforts, I do get a sense they were at least a little bit staged. This is a woman whose public image aligns closer to the town slut than Michelle Obama. Yet she comes out the box with a bunch of big words and witty one liners. Its a refreshing break from her slutty Playboy photo shoots and bisexual doctrines. I mean she rocks suggestive panties on her Twitter page. It appears she has an identity crisis…Kind of similar to Highbrid Nation huh? In that case I salute her but like Slim before her, she certainly left herself open for criticism.
What did however disappoint me was why she didn’t at least attempt to offer an opinion on the interracial dating from the perspective of the white woman. While I understand she feels its a non-factor, I think, as a white women who no doubt has interacted in a circle with many black males and females especially in the culture, she had the opportunity to flex her greatest authority yet she failed to do so playing the “men can’t handle dis” card instead. While her bite was loud and slice was sharp, she declined to really get her hands dirty. Perhaps a smart move.
FILED IN Honeys, Need to Know

Regardless of her fetid past, she was definately accurate with her argument. And although this issue crosses racial boundaries, i have to disagree with her point that its not a racial thing. I definately feel that my fellow brothers are sometimes confused and many are ill equipped to deal with a black woman that doesn’t need them, especially those of us in exhalted roles in society. Years of social injustice has played a major part in forming the black woman what she is today. Strong willed and determined are POSITIVE attributes made from these transgressions. The “attitude” is something -i believe- comes from the interaction with less than positive black, many of those with defeatist attitudes made possible by the same transgressions that made the black woman what she is today.
I think you’re right. Great points. Not being black makes her ill equipped to say its not a racial issue.
Somebody got PR writing for them…..
Right! I don’t think she has a clue what “subtext” means! — as she takes naked pics, looking like she high as hell!
I was thinking that and going to say that in the post but then that’d come across as hating. Could the HN team be equipped to have a conversation on politics and race while still enjoying some Fat Back.
There is no contradiction. We’re a well-rounded bunch, with many interests.
Yeah, I agree Aubrey played the “hard to handle” role real well, but she didn’t make a real well-stated point about interracial dating overall. PEACE!!!
Welcome back gphi. Missed you kid. Thanks for the contribution.
Juan why did you use this pic…my goodness she looks like sweating hot mess. it hurts her message when her image is so poor. i do feel her heart was in the right place to speak on such a loaded topic. however she is incorrect b/c it is a race issue. yes she does not cook, clean, etc but he is applauding white women as the standard of beauty and femininity
Honey Love,
Hopefully you are a female. If so, I am sure that you are the standard of beauty and femininity.
@jamesgladden i am a woman (hear me roar) and I am my standard of beauty and femininity. I can affirm that any man that likes me will agree. YES I WROTE IT!!!
when thug made such a blanket statement he messed up. I have a preference in men but i will not negate the fine-ness that i observe in other men.
slowly but surely she is resembling courtney love wtf is happening to this smutt bucket
SMASH! (what were we talkin about again?)
