The Defiant ‘College Dropout’, Kanye West Promotes Stay In School Concert?
This double standard was just to juicy to resit even for Highbrid Nation

#goodassjob #stayinschool
Kanye West hasn’t been gracing too many stages since his now over reported gaff with Taylor Swift. But last night (Tuesday, June 8 ) Kanye rewarded students three Chicago area public schools for showing excellence with grades, attendance and behavior.
The private performance for Farragut Career Academy, John Marshall Metropolitan and Percy L. Julian high schools was part of The Kanye West Foundation‘s third annual Stay in School event.
While reading the very short performance list which included “Run This Town,” “Good Life,” “Touch the Sky,” and his new single “Power”, notably and perhaps most ironically missing were any of his earlier works from “College Dropout”.
Now I try to stay away from calling fouls on contradictions as Highbrid Nation is the epitome of a double standard but I can’t help myself.
At some point, Kanye HAS TO have addressed the inconsistency with arrogant disregard for higher education as a determining factor of success and his “Stay In School” program launched by his foundation. I mean its almost laughable. Maybe Kanye really believe kids should just get a “Good ASS Job” instead of going to college.
Perhaps that’s why he left all the talking to fellow Chicago emcees Common and Lupe during the performance choosing instead to just perform.
“We want to congratulate you on the incredible job you’ve done in school,” said Common. “Whatever you do, be the best at it.”
Kanye could probably care less. By the way Good Ass Job tentatively scheduled to drop later this year.

Dude you sound like you have a personal beef with Kanye. Well let me get on my Kanye West is the Best soap box and start hollering.
Kanye did the best thing for Taylor Swift by going on that stage. Made her famous/mainstream within a few minutes which her publicist could not do for months. Kanye needed to take some time to really grieve the loss of his mother. It did not help that he had some Henny (liquor is a helleva drug). This time away was the best thing b/c we have “power” his new song out now (go get it). Kanye’s mother applauded education and so does Kanye. Yeezy is well-read and knows the best way to advance in life is education. However he has taken the other route (producing and rhyming) which does not mean he is against learning. Does that mean Kanye should degrade all individuals trying to get some knowledge (lmao)…No!!! Should kids not strive to get a Good A$$ job…No!!! Kanye is an example of the mixture of both – college and a good job. We would all be so lucky to be this type of contradiction!!
well said…agreed
I hate Kanye…who cares about this loser. He’s equivalent to a court jester in the medieval ages. Ignore him like a child and he will disappear.
I don’t have a problem with yeezy, i respect the i don’t give a damn attitude he has, i think what Kanye is saying about school is; don’t go to school because everyone is going to college and everyone wants you to go to college, because college isn’t for everyone and could be a waste if you don’t use it as higher learning… If you want to go to school, then go and use it as a tool, but if you don’t want to that education and taking space from kids who want and deserve to be there then you need to drop out… so you can be a rapper
