Mr. T Pitties The Fool Who Goes To See “The A-Team”. Beefs About Sex & Violence in Film
Grumblings from Dirk Benedict, who played Faceman abound as well

So get this, Mr. T and the entire cast is not feeling the remake of their 80′s TV cult classic, “The A-Team.” The actor who played B.A. Baracus in the show, known for his intimidating and imposing acting roles says he’s disgusted that the film is “too graphic” and sexually suggestive essentially counteracting the original intent.
“They offered me a cameo role but I turned it down because I knew what was coming,” Mr. T said. “People die in the film and there’s plenty of sex but when we did it no one got hurt and it was all played for fun and family entertainment. These seem to be elements nobody is interested in any more.”
“It was too graphic for me. I’ve no doubt it will do big business at the box office but it’s nothing like the show we turned out every week.”
Actor, Dirk Benedict who was made famous for his role as “Faceman” has beef with the film’s producers for a different reason. He’s insulted that although asked to cameo in the film that his role was reduced to an appearance worth of an extra.
“If you blink, you’ll miss me. I kind of regret doing it because it’s a non-part. They wanted to be able to say, ‘Oh yeah, the original cast are in it’, but we’re not. I’m on for a mere three seconds and I find that kind of insulting.”
This is often the problem with remakes. Its often impossible to get traditionalist and the original cast and crew on board with the redux. Its a remake not a replica so its an adaptation from the original. An adaptation designed to entertain the crowds of today.
I agree with Mr. T. His and my A-Team was a family, after-school type TV show. But times have changed dramatically since the 80′s. Cable television has pushed the envelope of sex and violence and created a demand for such content. When the original first aired it was the symbol of machismo and testosterone on Television but repeating such levels today is the equivalent of feeding the Pink Power Ranger to a Bourne Identity audience. While he’s right, unfortunately, Mr. T is just the latest example of old school not realizing 25 years have passed him bye.

Of course, the old cast would favor the same show with its easy to read scripts where the good guys win mid-way through the plot. However this is for movie goers that need a mature script with elements of sex and violence. If I want to see PG I can wait for the re-runs on TV Land. Could the old cast be holding on to the original to maintain their legacy? If this movie proves to be a blockbuster will the old cast even be recognized anymore? Wonder…..
I used to always wonder why they’re would be five minute shoot out scenes where no one would get shot and they were using A.K. 47′s, its 2010 Mr. T we want see people get laid out. Then have sex after!
Lol.. you’re crazy.
I don’t like the new Mr. T, i think it was one of the characters you leave alone forever…
I saw it yesterday and I don’t like the new Mr. T either…the movie was okay, a lot of action. There was no sex or nudity in it, tho, so I dunno what Mr. T talking about…
