It is not too hard to make the argument that Michael Jackson made some questionable decisions when it comes to how he spent his money. We have all heard the outrageous things he has purchased and we no that ended with him being in some serious debt around the time he died. It almost seemed as though as his star faded and he brought in less money, he actually spent more. Times have changed though and after his death Michael Jackson is as popular as he ever was and with that popularity comes a ton of new money into his estate. Recently uncovered documents show where that money is going and it appears as though MJ made iy so his kids would be set for life.

His mother, Katherine Jackson, gets the use of 40 percent during her lifetime (when she dies, the remainder goes to the kids), and 20 percent goes to charity.

The kids’ 40-plus percent isn’t going to be seen for decades, though.

Prince, Paris and Blanket have no control of the money until they are 30. Until then, they only receive an allowance, determined solely by the estate’s trustee.

When each of the kids turns 30, the trustees must then give them a third of their share outright. When the kids reach 35, they get half of their share outright.

At age 40, they get whatever’s left.

I’m impressed with the fact that the kids don’t get a dime until they are 30. That means they may have to actually get real jobs and learn to appreciate money before they get it all dumped on their heads.

With Mike’s estate making so much money these days I think those kids will be able to more than afford the Elephant Man’s bones if they choose to.
