SOUND OFF: Would You Watch ‘Idol’ If Puffy Replaced Simon?

Posted by Juan

If not who would FOX need to hire to get The Nation to tune in?

Diddy

Because I’d like to think much of the Nation is like me with regard to TV tastes I think its safe to say there aren’t many American Idol watchers out there.  But what if it was more hip hop…lets say more Diddy.  You’re probably read on those ultra cool gossip blogs that Diddy is half-heartedly looking to replace Simon Cowell as judge when he leaves.  In true Diddy fashioin he turned his desire for a career change into a social network marketing worldwide campaign.

I found out how much that boy makes a week. I am praying right now to ‘American Idol…I want everybody to get on Twitter, MySpace, Facebook and say that Diddy should get the Simon spot – but for the same amount of money,” he told MTV News.  “Please, can I have the job, whoever’s in charge of giving that job?  There’s no negotiating the contract. Just change the name on the check, and I’ll be there.”

Who knows, this could all be a publicity stunt to help spark waning sales for his “Last Train to Paris” and new management deal with Rick Ross.  It wouldn’t be the time Puffy’s tried to pull the wool over our eyes with a publicity charade.

So let me ask you this?  SOUND OFF: If Puffy were a judge on Idol would you watch?  If not who would need to be a judge in order to get you to tune in?

It makes no difference to me. I watch it the first few weeks, when the masses are “auditioning” just to see the crazy, funny people act up…once they go to Hollywood and attempt to get serious, it’s a wrap for me. My neighbors hear better singing when I’m in the shower!

  2. Mr. Bad Guy says:

I would watch it less, as soon as I figure out how can I watch something less than not at all…

  3. auchamp22 says:

Maybe since he is off the show, we can have people on the show who can hold a note…

American Idol could still be a successful show but it has nothing to do with judges. The show drags on too damn long. If they would just eliminate more than ONE person at a time for a hundred damn weeks then it would get some popularity back. It doesn’t matter if Puffy got the gig or not.
