All-White Swim Club Bankrupt/ Sold After Kicking Black Kids Out The Pool
Director: Blacks changed “The Complexion” of the club. Let the Racial Determination Committe debate!
@CNN
Last summer a private swim club outside of Philadelphia made headlines when they reportedly revoked their contracted agreement with a camp group comprised of mostly African American and Hispanic kids. The Creative Steps Day Camp and its kids allege that they were turned away from the club nestled in the almost entirely white populated suburb because of the color of their skin.

The club defends that there decision was made because there were too many children and many couldn’t swim and according to the Club’s Director changed the “atmosphere and COMPLEXION” of the club. The day camp’s payment was refunded and the campers never returned to the pool. according to the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission.
That was last summer. Fast forward to now. Following a bevy of racial discrimination lawsuits filed against the club, public reprimand from state officials and legislators the Huntingdon Valley Club was forced to file for Bankruptcy and was sold for $1.46 million yesterday (Thursday) to Congregation Beth Solomon Synagogue & Community Center. The sale clears the way for those campers to finally get the last laugh as once the sale is cleared by the court, the proceeds of the sale will go to paying damages.
So let’s call a brief session of the Racial Determination Committee. This is very similar to historically all-white country clubs still discriminating against black golfers. Do you feel that a PRIVATE club should be required to allow black campers or any black or Hispanic folks for that matter swim in their water? Should you be allowed to discriminate on your own property? SOUND OFF!

Any private establishment or entity reserves the RIGHT to deny access to their establishement, organization, or the facilites within for any reason they see fit, period.
With that said, when said establishment, entity, organization is questioned, they better have a damned good reason for doing so.
Since the Huntingdon Valley Club or those chosen to speak for them were idiotic enough to use a word that could be narrowed down and taken as racially discrimative as “complexion” they put their foot in their mouth and deserve what they got.
Was what was done purely out of racism? Probably not.
If it was a bunch of white kids would the same had happened?
Maybe.
Those questions should have been asked and answers during a law suit deposition and their reasoning should have further explained. Obiviously they couldn’t.
Well said and excellent points.
Well Mr. Bad Guy,
A (contracted agreement was revoked) by a private swim club, after the Creative Steps Day Camp arrived, and the (members) complained and or made a fuss. That is illegal
