Diddy Lands Deal To EXCLUSIVELY Sell Sean Jean At Macy’s
Adds bigger placemnts in 400 of Macy’s 850 retail locations and a whole lot of money to his resume

Hate on Diddy all you want but when it comes to business dude is a superstar. Too many people have counted him out of his music ventures but he’s reinvented himself too many times to mention. But from day one his fashion efforts with Sean John label have yielded dividends and yesterday he announced once again his hard work has paid off as she’s inked a new deal with Macy’s to make the department store the exclusive retailer of his clothing. The deal will give him more prominent placement in 400 of the department stores 850 locations for his Spring 2011 sportswear collection.
The transformative deal mirrors a similar one Macy’s inked with Tommy Hilfiger in 2007,
“We started a relationship with Macy’s 11 years ago. They truly supported us from Day One and now we are taking our relationship to the next level,” said Sean “Diddy” Combs at the Standard Hotel Wednesday morning, where the deal was unveiled.
The exclusive relationship will however mean that you will no longer be able to find Sean John at Dillard’s, Jimmy Jazz or anywhere else for that matter. According to Sean John president Dawn Robertson, these other retailers account for more than half the firm’s $525 million in retail sales but the undisclosed terms of the new deal is said to make up for that difference and more.
“I got my start at Macy’s when I was 16, selling shirts and ties,” the mogul said. “To come full circle like this is a dream come true.”
Additionally he shared his excitement with his followers on Twitter Wednesday morning.
@iamdiddy: “Sean John announces EXCLUSIVE deal with Macy’s,” he wrote. “Today is a GREAT day. More Focus, more fashion, more money…!”
