Harvard Law Student: ‘Blacks Genetically Less Intelligent Than Whites’

I could be wrong but the term “Word Is Bond” one we attribute to one of my favorite groups, Brand Nubian. It probably has some deeper 5% meaning but that’s here nor there (please feel free to enlighten me.) The point is its true, especially now more than with the advent of email. Once you put it down and hit send its out there in the universe and you’re forever tied to it and if you’re one of integrity forced to stand by it.
The student recently made some controversial comments about race at an unofficial Federalist Society dinner. Feeling the need to further clarify his views which were not recorded he emailed those present to elaborate.
Upset by the students viewpoints and under the veil of the internet’s anynomity and accesibility, a recepient forwared the email out to .the Harvard Black Law Student Association list-serv. The author who, it was revealed, will be doing a federal clerkship is now under intense scrutiny for his email containing the following.

I absolutely do not rule out the possibility that African Americans are, on average, genetically predisposed to be less intelligent. I could also obviously be convinced that by controlling for the right variables, we would see that they are, in fact, as intelligent as white people under the same circumstances. The fact is, some things are genetic. African Americans tend to have darker skin. Irish people are more likely to have red hair. (Now on to the more controversial:) Women tend to perform less well in math due at least in part to prenatal levels of testosterone, which also account for variations in mathematics performance within genders. This suggests to me that some part of intelligence is genetic….I don’t think it is that controversial of an opinion to say I think it is at least possible that African Americans are less intelligent on a genetic level, and I didn’t mean to shy away from that opinion at dinner…
In conclusion, I think it is bad science to disagree with a conclusion in your heart, and then try (unsuccessfully, so far at least) to find data that will confirm what you want to be true. Everyone wants someone to take 100 white infants and 100 African American ones and raise them in Disney utopia and prove once and for all that we are all equal on every dimension, or at least the really important ones like intelligence. I am merely not 100% convinced that this is the case.

Hey the student feels what he feels but he’s wrong. He has not scientific evidence to back his point so his argument is based in his reasoning which is what you expect a debater or a good lawyer to be able to do. Now I’m sure those black blogging communities with less restrain are up in arms planning their riots and distributing pitchforks but I expect a more thought out response from the proud Highbrid Nation.
This law student clearly feels the need to flex his racial superiority as evidenced by his email. He believes he’s flat out smarter than you and its his genetics that made him so. If a white athlete told you he was better at a sport than you were…what would you do? Beat them up?!

He is not the first Caucasian to say this crap. I read about it years ago. This is really very simple. It is genetically impossible for Blacks to be less intelligent than whites, on a genetic level, because whites came from blacks. Black people are the original people on the earth and ALL other races of people came from Black. Thus, it would be scientifically impossible to have an entire race of people predisposed to be less intelligent than the people who came from them. End of argument.
Someone would counter with Natural Selection, Darwin’s evolution.
Which I am about to do, as soon as I figure out a way to say it that doesn’t result in either a 20 page post or pickets walking outside of my home
Darwin’s evolution theory has too many holes in it. They are guesses, without any conclusive scientific proof. Survival of the fittest has merit, but as it applies to this question, it’s irrelevant.

God HAS TO BE BLACK in order for him to create what he created. White can only make white, while Black can make every color. White is the absence or color. Black is the essence of all colors. If you think these are racist statements, you are wrong. Just the facts. I don’t hate white people. Why would I? God made them. In our image and after our likeness…some of my best friends are white.

Yes, Actually Herbert Spencer coined the phrase “survival of the fittest” after reading Darwin’s work, “the origin of species.” Thus, he was obviously influenced by Darwin. “In the struggle for survival, the fittest win out at the expense of their rivals because they succeed in adapting themselves best to their environment.” (Charles Darwin).

Evolution does deny the existence of God as Creator. Please direct me to a relatively well known evolutionist/philosopher who doesn’t deny the existence of God, or at least renders God irrelevant, as it relates to creation/evolution.

Ooooh!! A challengin topic..hopefully my friends in KTRT will get in on this…Alright i’m not gonna lie here, i belive intelligence is something we are born with and can increase through the study of books, but foreal Intelligence isn’t always the best thing. Intelligence is ability to solve problems in anyway that works, BUT WISDOM!!! Wisdom is the ability to understand the context of the problem in finding the best solution for it. Which can be more beneficial for u in the long run depending on what u use it for. It’s knowing how to use the knowledge and what it means. It’s sort of deeper understanding of how the world around us works, even when we are not intelligent enough to know the details. A person can acquire wisdom, which they use to create mental techniques that further enhance their Intelligence. wisdom can appear to be the same as intelligence, and if the learned concepts of wisdom can be made part of a person’s nature, there’s really no longer any real difference between the two. Well nah i take that back..WIsdom is better..

KTRT on deck, im skeptical about this, why is this just being brought to our attention, is it because as slaves we were forbidden to learn how to read and write and learned after the white folks did. or so we are told my the tellers of history. but if you pay close attention to the history…we can acknowledge that there was some more than intelligent figures that proved that we are a smart race. if white people are truley smarter why were they outwitted by harriet tubman and others…and if its genetics we based our theory of..then we would be ahead of the white folks…because genetics improves over time! concur?
Well Im new to this, but im sick of white people doing studies on us. What about them? they are not all that Intelligent either. It always gots to be a dumb Muther…Boy let me shut my mouth, but we are the sht and they want to be just like us. We are killing them in everything. Hell we even age better. This is dumbest thing I ever heard. 99% of all black people in this coutry are mix with another race because of slavery. Even if you are really dark skin you are still not 100% black. Its no way you can do that test unless you do it with African from Africa and even you can’t get it 100% right.
in way i kinda agree with what this kid is saying and before u all say am ignorant am black and let me give my reason i personly think its boths genetics and circumstance in a world were white people are in power and black people havent been able to develop such with slaves not been allowed to learn to read or write. if look at some of the top schools in the world they are dominated by other races and some the worst have majority black the only thing we seem to better at is sports, arts(poets& writers)and fame. if look at africa especial nigeria where 30% of the worlds black live the most successful is wole soyinka the rest are athletes thieves or have killed, bride or stole to power in a world were alot of black children grow without fathers and in poverty and looking up to roles model who talk cars money and women ask how many young black student want to be doctors or lawyers how many black lawyers, doctors are there
You’re talking more about resources than intelligence, which would actually prove that blacks are smarter b/c despite being severely under resourced we’ve achieved tremendous things as a people even though we have a long, long,long way to go. This argument is stupid (no pun intended) people are people some are super smart some are super stupid and everyone else is in between. A world of B&C students as Chris Rock once said. I think anyone that thinks they are better because of race or color is a moron. You are either a person bleeds red when it hits air like everyone else or you are a racist. How smart can some of the people posting on this board be if many of you cannot even spell, never mind you are showing your ignorance by making half of these comments. What kind of person makes these dumb comments and thinks it sounds smart. This kind of talk is what makes people look like racist and haters.
Here is a good one, this had me laughing because so many of us have this stuck in our minds but it is not true.

That is kind of funny except more whites are the people who own the teams, than care to play“ think about it” never mind many whites are in higher end positions for that type of game, acting like whites are not as a good as blacks in sports is a joke. Most never even try to go all the way to the pros, the fact is more blacks are trying to get into the pros than any other races, it has nothing to do with how good a race is at sports, it is simply because more African Americans think sports is the only thing they can succeed in and it is a way out of many ghettos, or even a free ride to college. It is not the smarter route to take, and most will never even make it to the pros but since so many more blacks go for sports it is the reason why so many more are seen playing. Now if the brothers/sisters would care more about education, you would see more people like the president, doctors and lawyers increasing but guess what that does not happen, in fact the African American statics in the U.S. show poverty, less educated and making less money as well as having children with men that do not stick around long enough to even help name the child. Tell me who thinks all this is smart? what is smart about it? nothing, if you would like to call yourself smart stop acting like you’re not.
I think everyone is missing ENTIRELY the point of what this author is trying to say. He is not saying that blacks are stupid. And he is not saying that whites are super intelligent. I believe he is saying that after hundreds of years of geographic isolation, maybe we should not RULE OUT the idea that people and groups of people may not be as identical in abilities as current thought urges us to believe?

Despite all their potential and possibility for living harmoniously amongst themselves and their natural environment, the vast majority of humans are vile and petty creatures, being just smart enough to be non-rewardingly destructive, but not enough to fulfill their wondrous opportunity. The vainglorious power ambitions of a few coupled with the unhappy submissive compliance of the majority is its usual shape. Attempting to find the genetic superiority of one human group above another according to their skin color (or any other paramater) is a futile hair-splitting exercise exemplifying the base character of the race, the human race: A barely smart, but not enough, ape.

In general, blacks are less intelligent than white folk. Name one successfully run African country. Don’t blame slavery, blacks opress their own kind far worse than any other nation. And education? If it wasn’t for the evil white man, there would’nt be any education system anyway. Blacks from all social backgrounds consistantly fair worse off in IQ tests than whites. Don’t blame the IQ test either… if it’s so flawed as often alleged, please Mr Black, design your own IQ test and give it to whitey….let’s see the results.
If men perform better than women at math and women better at spatial memory tasks than men and men at 3d visualization than woman and Mongoloids perform higher on I.Q tests than Caucasoids then its safe to say that Caucasoids perform better than Africoids.
Many people don’t know what race actually is. Race is based off of Physical Bone Structure (and genetics) not just skin tone and how somebody appears to look like on the outside.

Mongoloids
Australoids
Khoisians
Caucasoids
These are the 5 races of the world and all these groups have different bone structure from each other.
I think this idea is absolutely ridiculous and is dismissed by the majority of respected scientist and sociologist for good reason. I’m African American and perfectly intelligent, top of my class, honor-roll in college in all my semesters I have been here. The reason I do well in school is partly based on genetics but mostly based on the fact that I work and study hard. Data shows time and time again that economic standing in the world bears more on intelligence than skin color. I mean, these frauds don’t even have genetic data to back up their claims and most likely have done little research to falsify their beliefs. I’m sure this rubbish would not be allowed in any Scientific Journal on the basis of it’s moronic unscientific claim. I want to see someone suggest that white people in the countryside are some how genetically less intelligent than those in urban areas because white people in the countryside are generally less intelligent(lower levels of education) and have worse economic outlooks. As far as the Africa argument goes there is obviously more of an economic factor that bears on why their is so much instability their. Also, instability and violence can be found in great levels all around the world. If you consider early American history, a key example would be the infamous Civil War among others. Consider this, Africans from the continent of Africa hold the most degrees of any group in the U.S and Asian Americans are second to them. What I find disturbing is that in the 21st century people could be so incredibly base and dismissive of facts right in front of their faces. The struggles that African Americans face are the same that any group has faced in the past or currently and as a group they will get over those problems. Currently I am a Biology major at an American University and plan to go to the University of Chicago Medical School and I’m going to get their because of my diligence and hard work. What this forum shows is that we live in a world of pseudo-intellectuals that will attempt to justify their superiority by any means. Fortunately you lot are among a minority and it will surely stay that way. As far as athletics go, I’m sure this has a cultural basis too and probably involves further study. What we have here is a case of bad science and hubris. This white young man probably has not considered the fact that he most likely grew up in a stable house hold with lots of advantages that poor blacks generally do not have and most likely went to schools that they could not go to. Their has been data that shows that individuals in higher economic brackets generally have higher IQ’s because of access to information crucial to the IQ test. Alfred Binet, the inventor of the IQ test, was hesitant to create it because he knew that it would be used by people to make sweeping claims like these and unfortunately he was right.
Lets consider this for a minute and try to ignor the fact that it is a heated argument that is going to cause alot of anger, mostly in the african american community.
No one likes to be told they are predisposed to any negative attribute. If you can consider that skin tone, bone structure, muscularity or any other physical attribute can be inherited based off genetics, then how is it hard to believe that intelligence can be as well. The differences between DNA in all races in the world is less than .1%. Its also true that we share almost all our DNA with a chimpanzee, yet we clearly agree that we are more intelligent than said ape. Do not get so upset at the last comment that you decide to shut down your critical thinking skills and go straight to anger. The very thing that has increased humanity’s intelligence is our desire to get to the bottom of things. To choose to ignor some form of research because it is offensive is ignorant. We have become so sensitive as a society that we would rather turn a blind eye to the research rather than offend someone. If you are as intelligent as you claim, then you would’ve noticed that other researchers who have done similar studies have concluded that those of southeastern asian descent are inherently more intelligent. This did not seem to have the entire white race up in arms, and this in and of itself kinda of proves that there is some basis for the information. Now go ahead and call me racist because this statement upset you. Its a good term to hide behind anytime someone of an different race has offended another race. But all I ask is that you put aside your personal differences and consider that if we can be influenced due to genetics for something so superficial as physical traits, then is it so hard to believe that mentality can be affected as well. If we learn what our strengths and weaknesses are, maybe we could better help our society as a whole by trying to focus our learning towards people who need a little more help. Choosing to ignor the problem isn’t going to help it go away.
