Spike Lee To Create Spiritual Sequel To Do The Right Thing With A Michael Jackson Twist
Could we actually be in store for a likable Spike Lee joint?
News recently came out about Spike Lee doing a new film called Brooklyn Loves Michael Jackson. Not to be confused with the concert Spike Lee did that had the same name, the movie does indeed center around a Michael Jackson tribute concert. The way the movie is being explained, the film will follow a group of Brooklyn natives as they are struggling to put together a tribute concert for the late King of Pop. The movie is likely to use Michael Jackson’s rise, tribulations, ever changing looks and untimely death as a metaphor for the gentrification taking place in Brooklyn these days.
Many people are excited about the movie because Spike seems to be enlisting several actors from another classic film he made, Do The Right Thing. Samuel L Jackson, Rosie Perez and Spike Lee himself are already attached to the project. Though the film will likely not be a true sequel to Do The Right Thing, there is hope that the returning ensemble cast will make magic once again.
I actually run into Bill Nunn all the time. Next time I see him I’ll have to ask him whether we might be seeing him reprise the roll of a mentally challenged Public Enemy Fan.
FILED IN Movies

I heard samuel jackson said this movie’s about how the plan is to host the Michael Jackson concert in fort greene park, but then white people in the area are opposed to the plan b/c they don’t want brown faces coming into the neighborhood?
I hope that was an inaccurate summary or very oversimplified, because it doesn’t sound like a good movie, and it’s not true.
