US To Donate $10 Million in Designer Bootlegs To Haiti Earthquake Victims
But they’re removing the phoney labels to make sure they don’t land back on Canal Street
#HaitiEarthquake
The United States government has announced that they’ll be sending 125,000 tons of counterfeit designer goods worth an estimated $10 million to Haiti for needy victims of the earthquake. The fake merchandise of which a large majority consists of phony True Religion, Rocawear, Ralph Lauren, Diesel, and Ed Hardy. The goods will be shipped out and distributed to needy Haitians only after their labels removed, per legal requirement. The designer knock-offs, including sneakers, jeans, sweatshirts, and even baby clothes come from major raids over the past two years. Normally the goods destroyed, but an exception was made in this case.
Per legal requirement my ass. The Department of Homeland Security and Secret Service don’t trust the Haitians. They’re basically saying we don’t trust you to re-gift our phony junk and sell it back to naive tourists on Canal Street.
