A Tattoo-Free 50 Cent to Trace Family Tree Back To Slavery For VH1 ‘Rock Doc’

Posted by Juan

Drops the tats to secure more gigs as he signs up for a new VH1 documentary

50 Cent@vh1 @50cent
50 Cent
recently told People.com that he’s losing some of his signature body ink as he focuses on securing more acting roles.

“It cuts down on the amount of time I have to spend in makeup covering them up,” he said.

He told the site however that he still plans to keep this iconic 50 tat that covers his back.

In celebration of his clean slate, 50 has teamed up with VH1 on a new “Rock Doc” titled “50′s Roots,” in which he will trace his roots in effort to uncover his slave lineage.  Along the way, the network says 50 will meet some of his long lost relatives scattered throughout the South.  The project is being produced by VH1 in conjunction with 50′s Roadside Entertainment imprint and is part of the network’s new programming overhaul which includes the introduction of a whopping 44 new shows.  No word yet on when “50′s Roots” will air.

One Response to A Tattoo-Free 50 Cent to Trace Family Tree Back To Slavery For VH1 ‘Rock Doc’

  1. Mr. Bad Guy says:

I would never look for 50 to take on a project so seeming positive. I would look at this as more of a Lupe or Talib Kweli sort of thing…

Then again that’s why this is going to sell, its something out of the ordinary.

I’ll give it whirl, but once Curly comes out I’m turning the channel.
