[RANT] Hip Hop 2.0 Is Full of Sh*t: Ne-Yo Two Times 50, In Bed w/ Rick Ross
Whoever is writing the Hip Hop Beef Soap Opera needs to pay more attention!

Today while trying to sneak a quick haircut in during lunch on this beautiful day, I happened to catch DJ Camilo dropping his “New At Two” on HOT 97. Now those of you regular readers know that at this point in my life although I live Hip Hop, I tend to give the side eye to her music that stared it all. After hearing tracks like Rick Ross’s new single “Super High” featuring Ne-Yo, I feel very confident that my skepticism is well founded. Yet I love Hip Hop so much I decided to send her a letter.
Dear Hip Hop,
I’ve tried. I try to give your new music (Hip Hop 2.0 as I like to call it) the benefit of the doubt but when I turn on the radio and here Rick Ross doing a track with Ne-Yo, I can’t take you seriously. Is this not the same turkey can be heard on the same radio station running in heavy rotation with Rick Ross’ so called arch-nemesis 50 Cent on the “Baby By Me” track? I mean I get it. I know your beefs are often about as real as the action in a WWE match but at least make sure the artists are all on the same page so they don’t leave you at the end of the day with your skirt up.
I mean I guess you could clean it up and say that this Rick Ross’ way of getting back at 50 in the same way that 50 paraded “Officer Ricky’s” baby mommas on shopping sprees, magazine photo shoots and did silly commentary on their sex tapes but even that’s a stretch. I can’t do it any more ma. I love you but I gotta leave you even if temporarily.
Respectfully,
Juan

Ne-yo made a good decision by doing the track with RR, Juan. He evidently saw 50 is washed up or something so you either go with the next best thing or his nemesis. Which both turn out to be RR! Plus, when things like that happen, its a favor for a favor. or a feature for a feature on a track. good business practice. 50 should applaud his efforts. beanie should be tryna jump from that sinkin ship!
This Hip Hop 2.0 you mention isn’t the Hip Hop I grew up with. This is a bastard child of the original. I think she was raised in a single family home, deprived of a proper upbringing as her mother was too busy reminiscing on what once was.
LOL… exactly. She also was put on time out and got “grounded” as forms of discipline.
It’s a paper chase, Ne-yo is a good song writer and can sing the $hit out of a hook. That’s like T-Pain working with one artist (may not help my case but) Get that money, he’s not a part of G-Unit, is he? Soapbox Rant J-double…lol
I agree. Its not about loyalty here or a get back a 50 thing(at least not from Neyo’s pov). Maybe RR was seeing it as a “ha ha” to 50, but for Neyo I think it was about $$ and thats it. I understand you’re rant Juan but this was a bad excuse to do it. I’ll tell you who is a GREAT example of a rant…
Young Money…they got on my nerves before they even had an album. And is it just me or is YM made of Wayne,Drake,Nikki,& Tyga(in that order) and thats it *sigh*?
and anyone that sounds remotely close to Gucci Mane!! For ex: that damn Wocka Fucka Lame!! So tired of nursery rhymes.
I do agree with the rant; just think that you used a bad example.
