Tiger’s Late Pops Encourages Him From Heaven in New Nike Ad
Nike gets creative using archived audio to capitalize on Tiger’s “indescretions”
@NikeGolf #TigerWoods #Masters
As Tiger Woods gets set to tee of at the Masters today he’s getting some words of encouragement from an unlikely source, his late father, Earl Woods. In Nike’s first new Tiger ad since his sex-scandal dropped, titled “Earl and Tiger” the apparel company used some file audio from an interview with his father as if to suggest they were words of wisdom ominously applied to his recent saga. The commercial is currently airing on ESPN and The Golf Channel and I’m sure will be in heavy rotation during the Masters.
What do you think? Did Nike overstep their boundaries or did they strike yet another hole in one?

It could be worse. In his later years, Richard Nixon used to make a few bucks by signing copies of his resignation letter.

The problem is, normal people like use have a certain amount of shame; and there are things we just wouldn’t do.

When you’re a celeb or a pol, it’s a whole different story.
I look at it as when David Letterman, or was it Jay Leno, whomever, asked Kanye West what would his late Mother say about his carrying on, after the Taylor Swift incident. It strikes a chord. It makes the person reflect on what they did or are doing. It reminds them that someone sacrificed for them to get to where they are and they are taking that sacrifice for granted. Hey, since that was said to Kanye, he hasn’t been acting a fool nor been in the media at all for that matter.
My own travels down the “straight and narrow” has been on account of,
1. My utter fear of prison.
2. The shame that doing wrong would bring on my mother.
3. The fear that my mother would physically snatch my soul out of my body.
Hopefully Tiger can take heed and reflect on his fathers words.
yeah but dude he got paid off the ad…his fathers words from the grave. Exploitation of the dead?
Tiger is faker than a 4 dollar bill.
Yep! anything for the cause (making money).
