Was Diddy’s Rumored Bid to Buy English Soccer Club Fueled by Jealousy Over Jay-Z Nets Success?
There’s always been a business rivalry between the two.
As any good businessman should “Sean “Diddy” Combs has always sought new ways diversify his empire. According to the U.K.’s Daily Mirror, Diddy is planning to make a £360million bid for the British Soccer club, the South London Crystal Palace which filed for bankruptcy in January.
Perhaps inspired by Jay-Z‘s successes with bringing the Nets to Brooklyn, a spokesperson in Diddy’s camp says he becane interested in the Crystal Palace because of the marketability of the club’s name. Jay-Z and his business partner Bruce Ratner broke ground on their new Downtown Brooklyn mega complex earlier this week making Diddy’s announcement somewhat suspicious.
Diddy would complete the trek inspired by Jigga in 2005 when he attempted to purchase a stake in London’s Premier League soccer clubs Arsenal and Chelsea.
UPDATE: According to the Daily Mail Crystal Palace administrator Brendan Guilfoyle has “laughed off” suggestions P Diddy is ready to buy bankrupted club even though he would be delighted to listen to the rap superstar’s offer. Ok so maybe this was a publicity stunt.

English socccer is big money
Good move bc they be gettin it in over there about them soccer games. Brazil too! That might be the next big thing!
Jay-Z Nets Success? Last time I checked on espn, the nets are on the verge of being the worst team ever. The Nets are giving away court side seats right next to Jay-Z so you too can trip a referee.
What Net’s Success? The team was losing money when they were winning! They sucker theses cats w/money to blow. (Nelly, JZ et. al) Charlotte and NJ NET are losing money. Bob Johnson took a $30 million hit when he sold it to Jordan.
