Conservatives Throw Out Fed. Gun Laws in Anti-Health Care Tantrum

Posted by Juan

Red State Lawmakers get creative. Attempt to use States Rights as Rallying Cry for Resistance

Tea Party

Instigated by the Tea Party movement, Lawmakers in some of the nations “Red” states are throwing what amounts to a political temper tantrum in protest of the Democratic push for Health Care Reform.   Masked as a exercise of state rights Republican Gov. Mike Rounds of South Dakota and Democratic Governor of Wyoming, Dave Freudenthal both signed bills into law last week declaring that the federal regulation of firearms is invalid if a weapon is made and used in their respective states. (Excuse me for a second…..bruahaahaha)

In addition, the Oklahoma’s House of Representatives approved a resolution  allowing residents to vote on a state constitutional amendment that would allow them to opt out of the federal health care overhaul.

Lawmakers in Alabama, Tennessee and Washington are drafting bills or constitutional amendments that would grant local police powers sovereignty over the federal authority.  In the bleedingly red state of Utah,  passed a bill last week that says federal law enforcement authority, even on federal lands, can be limited by the state.

These and a handful of other moves like them are part of a new tactic launched by opponents of big old bad Health Care reform to denounce federal authority in favor of flexing states rights.  Although this irresponsibly impulsive behavior is billed as conservative anxiety over federal authority in truth its fueled by the Tea Party movement or its members pulling the puppet strings.

While the movement ranks closer to the soar loser mentality than any political common sense, many believe the drive has “more smoke than fire.”

Expect some state to threaten to succeed from the Union any day now.

The’re trying to disrespect the president because he is Black…
Dumbass in that pic has the nerve to have a Nazi symbol with the president’s name on it. I couldn’t be driving by and see that…stop the car, tear the sign up in little pieces and beat his redneck ass!!!
These are the same A*holes that supported Bush’s idiotic policies, which drove the country into an economic crisis. But in his case, he’s an “American” and “we should support our president.”
F*ck the Tea Party Rednecks, Bush, Cheney, Sarah Palin, Condy Rice, and even Colin Powell (if his weak ass had any guts, maybe Bush and the boys wouldn’t have done some of the crap they did)….and maybe we wouldn’t be in the position we are in right now….

well, keep in mind that theres plenty of people that werent holding signs w swastikas too…im a teabagger and know many “conservative” people who disagree with whats happening in govt. And i cant think of anybody that would do that… If you were a news reporter, driving thru a protest, what pic would YOU take? You drive thru 2000 people and ones holding up a sign with a swastika… perfect! that pic should sell. News medias have agendas too…

    • Dave says:

Im a teapartier and absolutely against Bush. Theres democrats in the teaparty too…the point of the party is to lobby to stop wasteful govt spending. Bush spent a lot…and if the tea party had been formed when he was pres, then we would have lobbied against him too. I think people finally realized all this when the economy went downhill, and we realized that our countrys debt is total disaster waiting to happen. The economic downturn happened at the end of Bush’s rule, Obama spent a LOT all at once on an economic stimulus with very little debate, and thats when tea partiers started to organize. Just to clarify, im absolutely not a fan of palin or bush or anyoone like that…the point is to stop this crazy govt waste, and i support politicians who do this. Many SAY they will cut waste, but dont, -basically they lied to get elected- and these people need to be booted

Yes it is. Vote em all out and start over with people that have honest backgrounds. Both sides are crooked, lets clean house and stop either just voting in Dems or Repubs…vote libertarian or independent, give congress some balance
