African-American Unemployment Rate Finally Declined in February
Job market begins to show some blacks some love
While the National recession may have officially ended a few months ago, the unemployment rate for African Americans over the last 2 months has hovered over a whopping 16 percent. But there may be some good news insight.
According to a report released by the Labor Department on Friday black unemployment actually dipped to 15.8 percent in February down from 16.5 percent in January. Still an estimated 2,812,000 African Americans are out of work.
Nationally the unemployment rate held steady at 9.7 percent and may indicate the economy is finally stabilizing and will begin to show signs of bouncing back.
