Jennifer Hudson To Perform NCAA Tourney Theme ‘One Shining Moment’
J-Hud’s rendition will air as College Basketball crowns this year’s National Champ
Its March and that can only mean one thing for NCAA Basketball fans…Let March Madness begin. And while the Conference Tournaments are in full swing and the NCAA Tournament just days away its not how the madness begins that interest, R&B singer, Jennifer Hudson but how it will end.
She has been tapped to perform the iconic “One Shining Moment” song that concludes CBS’s annual broadcast of the NCAA men’s basketball championship game.
“The song inspires you,” the Grammy and Oscar winner said in a statement. “It moves you. It motivates you and helps you reach that goal and that dream.”
J-Hud will follow in the footsteps of Teddy Pendegrass and Luther Vandross who have performed the number before her since its use as the official tourney track since 1987. Her rendition was recorded by Hudson in Los Angeles on Feb. 13 with producer Harvey Mason Jr., who played for the Arizona team that reached the 1988 Final Four.
