Ca$h Money’s Birdman & Slim, Break Formation, Pursue Oil Business

Posted by Juan

While Oil’s not sexy nor a chick magnet there’s a lot of money in it. Is Hip Hop learning her lesson?

Birdman

After 11,537 failed clothing lines (to be exact) and roughly 485 beverage ventures, Hip Hop might actually learned something.  I read over the President’s Day holiday that Cash Money Record founders, Ronald “Slim” Williams and Bryan “Birdman whatever happened to Baby” Williams are said to be investing some in a new oil business. Dubbed Bronald Oil & Gas LLC, the new venture will focused on “exploration and development properties in Osage County, Oklahoma, as well as in Texas, Louisiana and Florida in the United States and in Central America.”

While the company may not yet have any staff, investors or corporate structure at this point, nevermind all that I’ve just gotta stand up and applaud the rare innovation.  Ok, maybe it was a little bit presumptious for Birdman to go out and get the company logo tatt’d on the side of his dome but we never said he was the smartest dude in the world.

And that’s my point.  Hip Hop has proven you don’t have to grow up with the silver spoon supplanted or even be that intelligent to make it happen but by using the success and cash you’ve been able to secure from entertaining folks and surrounding yourself with people on that next level of business you can elevate.  Yeah clothes are cool and booze gets you drunk but last time I checked those cats in Texas with the big hats drilling for oil made some serious cash.  I’m surprised this is first time we’ve seen hip hop implement this business model.

Now while pursuing, check that saying you’re planning to pursue a business idea doesn’t ensure success, I have to at least applaud the effort.

Oh, wait! I can get a big-a$$ “OILMAN” name plate!!!

Think off all the one lines he can use with “Crude” oil.

Good for them for taking the road less traveled.
    .
A solid industry; and a money-maker (as long as they actually FIND oil).
    .
It’s not always the glamorous investments that make the money. I’ve got money in garbage, toilet paper manufacturers and electric utilities. It’s as boring as watching paint dry, but they pay dividends every quarter, rain or shine.

    • Juan says:

Garbage is huge. Just ask Tony Soprano. No but seriously, the industries that get your hands dirty are often the easiest to enter because no one wants to. Less competition.

      • Malcolm says:

And from an investor standpoint, they do good business regardless of the economy. (and probably in the case of toilet paper, probably better in a bad economy.
        .
Though the stock prices go up and down like all others, they pay between 4% and 7% in dividends, which is a heck of a lot more than you’re getting from a bank or throwing darts at the dartboard.
        .
Using the law of 72 as an example, park your money in a dividend stock like that and you double your money every 10 years.
